Tyres - Michelin Super Sport or Pilot Sport 3

Got her back from having her cambelt done and garage have advised I need to replace 2 rear tyres. As a result I am planning on probably replacing all 4 as I can get a good deal. The big question is, do I go for the Michelin Super Sport or Pilot Sport 3? Does anyone have any experience?
I dont track my car at all as she is pampered, but I do make sure she gets a good run on a motorway when I get the chance. Other than that I am just looking for the usual.........excellent wear and wet grip as I live in the quiet countryside. Having read reviews both tyres seem to offer that. I did however see from a couple of places that the Pilot Sport 3 is NOT the replacement for the PS2. It is the replacement for something else and that the Super Sport is the new upgraded PS2, which I believe these cars came with from factory. I have also seen some very favourable reviews from M5 and M6 owners about these.
I am planning on getting them ordered next week so all advise and experiences welcome.

Went through this last summer.
Decided on PS2 in the end as seemed better than PS3 all-round.
PPS sound great in dry (does the RS6 need more dry grip?) but not so good in wet.
Happy with result, but slightly disappointed with road noise, Goodyears also seem popular and may be a little quieter.

I would be paying £181 each for my PS3's, fitted, balanced and nitrogen filled. Not had them quote me for Super Sport yet.........

I need to try this for myself. The BMW batty buoys reckon the PSS grip in the wet on the M3 is great and this is backed up by friends of mine who do semi-pro competition (they have PSS on their road cars).
But bam and footlong say the wet grip isn't great, and I trust their judgement, too... Arghhh.
I need some tyres for my M3 and I'm hesitating between PS2 and PSS.
And, yes, Chunky, the M3 boys also rate the GY...
and slate the bridgestones.

I have had PS2's on my C6 and rated them very highly in all conditions.
I run PSS's on the R8 and they are outsanding in dry and wet... have tracked the car at Silverstone and the 'Ring in the wet (heavy rain) and they are superb.
I took a very experienced driver friend or Panda's out for a Px at the 'Ring and the first thing he did when he got out was to see/ask what tyres I was running, he was shocked at the grip I had.

I have recently put a set of Michelin PS2 on my C5 avant ; very pleased with them.
Depending on what you go for, look out for the RO1 designation too

Think the problem with the PSS grip is when it is cold and wet. They definitely do not perform in cold and wet as well as vreds. The PSS is great in the dry.
