18" wheels - no TV

Once again, need to tap into the wealth of knowledge that resides herein.
Have spotted a car that interests me but it has the 18" wheels and no TV.
Lack of TV doesn't really bother me as i understand it is difficult/expensive to convert to digital?
If the car was specced with 18's would there be any other suspension or drivetrain differences to a car with 19's?
Any reason to avoid a car with this spec?

Cheers ma dears :beerchug:

They all had TV. None of them work anymore, obviously. TV in a RS6 is as useful as a glass drum kit.

I personally like the 18" wheels. Nothing stopping you putting 19" wheels on though. The suspension, etc is the same either way.

Get some OZ like footlong. Yum. Good value but a set of wheels and proper tyres is inevitably a wallet wounder.

You put Nangkangs on and we'll disown you. You put Ling Longs on and we will grudgingly respect your cahonies and say something to that effect at your funeral.

Now, being a relative noob i worship the ground you guys levitate over, but have a look at the pic and if this is a TV i'm wearing woman's underwear..again.
Is this an aftermarket piece of kit?

Which OZ's has Footlong got?

Where would Sunews get me on the reespec clapometer?

Someone's replaced the Nav unit with a Symphony Hi-Fi, probably due to a faulty Nav unit. In itself not a bad piece of kit, but old fashioned now. It should be possible to find the TV tuner in the rear left compartment of the boot, under the 6CD changer. But it was analogue only.

Some people would say this is a blessing as now you can add your choice of Kenwood / Pioneer / whatever brand you want Nav with modern Bluetooth, DAB and ipod connectivity etc.

Distant bells are ringing. I have a vague recollection that the symphony might have been a no cost option. Only a self-loathing sad sack would spec that. Or 18" wheels. ;-)

I'll have to look in the original options guide.

Ah well, this car will suit me perfectly then.
Can take off the woman's underwear now :biggrin3:

Could leave the 18's on and have a Layer Cake replica

Actually, IIRC the Symphony is better for iPod / USB integration since you can get the song names on the DIS.

Yeah, I like them in the same way I like pets - when they are someone else's. ;-)

Yo dawg!

We put a 6CD in your 6CD!

So now you can listen to 12 CDs in your car.

No, wait...

The TV Sat Nav are Optional equipment at No charge however even when my TV worked I never used it and the sat Nav is <beep> hence I fitted a Tom Tom on a Brodit clip. Even the sat Nav in my wife's new S3 is <beep>. Wheels are similar 18 standard 19 option no charge. I only know this because I bought the original hard back brochure and price list off eBay.

Thought it was something like that. Thanks for posting that, saved me getting my brochure and option list out. :)

I don't think the satnav is too bad, but it can't compete with a recent Tomtom. I use the latter exclusively.

Yeah, I suppose at the time the oem sat nav was fairly good, but now it's just soooo dated.

As everyone has said, most of us have tv tuners, a few people have taken them out because there is just no point to them really. If I'm bored at work sitting in the car, I get more fun watching films on the iPhone 5!

Thinking back now, didn't ringa put a media player in his boot with over 300 films loaded on it, and had iPod connected to it too?
