RS6 Re-conditioned Gearbox and Fitting Service

Post by Ben @ AmD Essex » Wed Nov 14, 2012 4:02 pm

Good Afternoon All,

Here at AmD Essex we can now offer a full exhange gearbox and fitting service for your RS6. We have a fully re-conditioned gearbox here instock ready to fit to any car that is suffering with the usual RS6 gearbox issues.

We can offer this full supply and fit service for £2999.00 + vat (£3598.80 inc vat)

The gearbox comes with a 12 month no quibble parts and labour warranty. If you are unfortunate enough to have any problems after the initial year but within 3 years/60k miles the gearbox would be repaired FOC and we would only charge the cost of labour to remove/re-fit the gearbox.

This is a much cheaper option than a new gearbox from Audi, which would be priced at £6217.89 inc vat supplied/fitted and a much safer option than taking the chance with a second hand gearbox.

To carry out this service we would require the car for 3 working days and can also offer a hire car while your car is with us (priced at £10+ vat per day) With us having the gearbox instock there is no lengthy waiting time while your gearbox is being repaired.

Regards

Ben @ AmD Essex.

Hello Ben.

Is this a one-off (because you have a reconditioned gearbox available now) or a service that you're going to offer on a permanent basis?

Do you have a fixed price for this task? i.e. what if someone supplied a 'box, what would you charge to swap it out, fixed price, no more to pay?
No matter where you go, there you are.

It probably does, it's a given doing the TC and the gearbox. Sort of a 'goes without saying thing'. There's a myth on here that Audi replace the box without the TC, and I'm willing to put money on the fact that is untrue. You can't even buy the box without the TC.

We require the car for 3 days, if you were to supply a box the price of labour would be £1500.00 + vat.

The Torque Converter is also fully stripped down a refurbished with new parts.

HTH,

How many hours for removal? Do you remove just the box or engine as well?

Ben, with all due respect buddy. This isn't really an offer, £3.5k is the going rate an independent charges anyway. Do RS246 members get a further discount?

We do remove the engine to change the gearbox on the RS6. The labour time is about 22-25 hours (Dealer warranty labour time is 22 hours), £1500.00 + vat is our price for the labour alone if we were fitting a new box or a customer supplied box.

Hi Amar,

To be fair I didn't actually state this was a special offer price. This is a set price we are offering this service for.

The main point of this post was to make owners aware that we can offer this service and with a relatively quick turn around as we will have the gearbox instock ready to go.

I did know what dealer time was, I also know how quick it can be done.
