The pads bite brilliantly, even when cold within reason. The squeel is there regardless of whether they are hot or cold. In actual fact, they squeel far less from cold but as soon as they start getting warm the noise ramps up accordingly at low speed.

Re: Can't wait for Ian to finish baking my XP10 front pads!
Many many coupe owners suffer the same fate of squeeking brakes and they have tried every pad on the market. It must also be down to the pad fitting in the caliper (brembos on the 20vt also). Varioous people - including me - have tried backing plates on the pads and that sometimes solves it. In the end I fitted different brakes anyway.
I'm not that bothered though. You never see a racing car without squeeling brakes

Can the ET be modified on alloys? Machine a bit off the inner flange of the rim? Just wondering.

It can be within reason and dependant of the mounting face.
i've shaved 12mm off some BBS wheels before.

If you could shave 7mm then you could run the C6 setup. Or even 5mm, 1mm of the disk bell surface and have your wheel stick out 1mm... just a thought.

I looked into this instead of rolling the arches, it's not uncommon, you can take some off the bell and some off the back of the wheel BUT I wasn't keen because it'll effect resale of wheels, IMO.Shoppinit wrote:If you could shave 7mm then you could run the C6 setup. Superglue some spacers on when you sell the wheels. Job done.

Re: Can't wait for Ian to finish baking my XP10 front pads!
The problem with all that is that I would have to find somewhere up to the task, then they would probably need the ryres removed, I would then be unlucky and get another set of heary-handed idiot that then scratch up the rims to buggery either removing or refitting the tyres. I am totally fine with modifying the actual rims, but the chances are that someone could balls up the tyre removal makes me grimace.
