I've read about it too Amar, but never heard of anyone having it done on a road car.

You don't need super finishing. Just a decent clutch pack and an improved valve body. The mechanicals are otherwise very strong on the ZF box and because it's a slush box, it suffers less from dynamic shock wear.

Really?? Care to share where?? At that price, I'd have one for rebuilding... Cheapest I've found so far is around the ubiquitous 1k mark.

There was one on fleebay not long ago for around £400. I seriously considered it, but then thought i would have my balls removed if it was left lying around in the garage.

Hi Amanda,

What would I gain from knowing the full spec and not sharing? As I said earlier the internals of auto gear boxes are not something I personally specialise in, it isn't myself rebuilding them or uprating them.

He blurted out a load of parts/specs to me over the phone of what is done but I have asked him to email me a list of what is uprated/refurbished. As soon as I get this info, which he said he will sort early next week I will post it on here.

Ben

Exactly, Amanda. Not everyone's as cryptic as you. Ben genuinely doesn't have the spec yet!! As he said, what would he gain from keeping it from us? That's your fisherman Simon says style of posting not his or ours. Time out Amanda, time freaking out.

Special as in you know retarded? :bigblink: The reason why I want to know is because I am investigating other routes over the gearbox, I have had mine out 3 times and I refuse to have the gearbox out any more than once more so I need to make 100% certain that this is the correct route to go. Hence why I need the full spec nuts and bolts etc and a full guarentee. If Ben at AMD cannot provide this then I will be heading over the pond.

Guys, what have I missed? Seeming a bit overly hostile non? I didn't mean retarded Amanda and wouldn't deliberately imply that on a public forum so apologies, should have chosen my comment better or put a load of emoticons after it or summat. God I feel like ass this morning...
