S4 gearbox - does that mean they have CNC machined a kit to allow direct fittment.
Is this a six speader?
What kind of work is involved to allow this.
Is this same conversion done by MRC and rs6 i saw advertised for sale on here recently?
Those cars look insane fun

The problem has never been the physical fitment of the box, it's getting the ABS / ESP / ECU sorted out. I bet that car has no ABS or ESP. Almost certainly a programmable ECU, too.

Some more specs...

The RS 6 "Competition" was developed to meet Speedvision World Speed Challenge GT rules for the 2004 season. The 2004 version of the Certified Audi RS 6 will be significantly different in appearance from the 2003 and performance has undergone a major renovation in order to stay competitive with new factory entries. One of the major changes to the Audi is with the addition of the 305 sized Toyo RA-1 tires. While increasing the width of the tire is beneficial to Audi's all-wheel drive system, it does come at a cost. The 2004 RS 6 will continue to be powered by a 4.2 liter, V8, bi-turbo engine but the boost will be reduced in comparison to last year.

Specifications

Body: RS 6 sedan body shell with Audi Space Frame technology, standard RS 6 aluminum fenders and front hood, Lexan anti-fog front and rear windscreens, full roll cage with Audi Sport side protection, AP racing on board air jacking system, Champion Racing carbon fiber front splitter and air dam system

Interior: Motec Data Acquisition system with 40 logging channels, Recaro FIA standard drivers seat and full harness, carbon fiber door panels and trim, integrated fire protection system

Engine and Drive Train: RS 6 Bi-Turbo engine developed by Cosworth Technology (CTI) larger, more efficient intercoolers

Engine Management: Pectel T10S

Torque: 376.15 lb/ft (510 Nm)

Power transmission: quattro® transaxle, with 40:60 torque split front to rear

Gearbox: Longitudinal 6-speed Audi transaxle gearbox

Steering: Rack-and-pinion power steering

Brakes & Suspension: Ohlin 5 way adjustable shock absorbers, Eibach competition coil springs, RS 6 standard braking system with full floating cast iron rotors, adjustable modified suspension arms with rod end and uniball joints, adjustable front and rear anti roll bars

Thinking in my head out loud… they kept the torque quite low, but upped the HP, in fact, isn't 510nm less than standard? Interesting that the brakes were left untouched, Ohlin coils is what Mart has just ordered for his C5, looking forward to his thoughts. Has anyone modified the C5 diff to split torque 40/60, unless I am mistaken, I’m sure the B5 guys manage to do this with their car, using a simple washer or something.

I love the Audi spaceframe stuff in a C5! Amar, it's not really about big power and torque, it's about having a lighter car with the engine running whatever it can consistently and reliably throughout a complete race. Plus, on race slicks (305s!!!) and AWD, it'd be less stressful on the drivetrain to run good free spinning horsepower rather than big torque. The 4:1 diff mod is pretty easy, not sure what it'll do in a slushy C5 setup.

1406kg - that's a saving of 600kg or
7.5 x 12st adults....Wow
I noticed the carbon fibre doors,
Can someone shed some light on where all the weight has been saved.
I would love to make one of these as track car project ! But I fear an e46 m3 would be cheaper and more reliable.
It's a shame there isn't a kit to do all this.
I'd love to know more about the suspension components and why?

Not sure where the weight saving has come from. The bonnet and wings on the RS6 are already aluminium. The interior will save a bit, air con, a bit off the alloys, The smaller gearbox, a bit. I can't see it adding up to 500Kg.

The MTM RS6 Clubsport was also 1500Kg with a manual box, so the weight saving must be there to be made.

Interior is sooo fecking heavy in our cars. I took out the cd changer and tv box last weekend as i had to remove it to get the bumper off, bloody hell it weighs alot. I know a roll cage will add some weight but just think about a battery half the size, all dash parts, electrics.......
