Right, so, R01 is the designation for tyres made specifically for Audi quattro drivetrains, chassis and running gear. I wonder if that means they're designed for all sorts of things like heaviness and elknoblo.
I do see a lot of Audis running on the Audi 2wd A designation or even the M for Mercedes designation.
Was looking at the Veyron Vitesse in Berlin yesterday, matt grey under gloss grey which is an interesting and no doubt expensive option, even for the Veyron.... Couldn't see if they were designated as R01, N, A, M or anything else but they definitely were very wide Michelins.

PSS don't exist with the R01 bullshit marketing homologation label.

Having said that, when I buy PS2, I get the R01 because they are no more expensive.

The tyres on the Veyron are made only for the Veyron. You can't put anything else on and they won't fit anything else. Not that you'd want to put them on anything else at £20k a time.

You're right, just saw video online of guy in Michelin precision hand making (with laser guidance) each tyre for the Veyron. Gotta be expensive.

Probably explains why people say, "Win the lottery and buy a fast car but be sure it's a rollover Euromillions before you even think of buying a Veyron"
