For cfcdoc, this should help from earlier in the thread:
Mods are difficult. Any company could argue that because you've deviated from standard, it has made other components prone to premature wear/failure, and therefore not covered. I haven't had any experience with this personally. I gather most though would remove the mod, and replace with standard before putting it in for warranty work. I have had my mods declared and written in to my cover contract as covered (after long negotiations).

Just spoke to Audi and they will cover me on the plus, no inspection, I can claim after 30 days. I can also do up to 15k miles a year.

£2033 with Audi Assist and no excess
£1997 without Audi Assist

£1649 with £100 excess
£1265 with £250 excess

All the above need to be paid for in one go.

Warranty Direct say £750, and I can take the car to Audi, they cover 100% parts and up to £150 an hour labour. I will however have to pay for an inspection which costs £40, reduced from £60. They have also given me the option to pay the £750 over four payments over the year.
If Audi would do £1265 with no excess, I'd be inclined to go for it. Has anyone managed to negotiate on Audi warranty pricing?

Just read through the last page, and have seen someone got a 'named component' price. They didn't mention that to me...!

I know yours is low miles, but for those prices I expect it will be named componant.

Comprehensive busts through the £3k marker...

Is your plus standard or does it have mods? If its the latter, did you tell audi and what did they say (I`m assuming if youve got the warranty quote and its modded they dont care)

I can't remember now, don't think they asked. The only mod is Coilovers, don't think I mentioned them. Wonder if that will change the quote. I'm going to ask them if they will inspect the car first and then give me the cheaper renewal price rather then the price they quote when you initially take out a brand new policy.

Audi warranty doesnt offer Full Component > 6yrs old IIRC

coilover mod wont effect anything, other than the coils wont be covered if they fail, and most failed suspension bits will be put down to wear and tear on a 7 yr old car

Go with Audi warranty, highest excess £250

most things that go wrong with an RS 6 cost £1,000, so with every claim you save £750

They just asked if it had been serviced to guidelines. Mine has had 2x services at Audi, the last one at 10k miles then MRC after that. So I don't think it needs to be Audi, and anyway, MRC use OEM parts. I'm not sure DK.. I think I will go down the warranty direct route, it's cheaper - no excess and covers wear and tear, yes they will try and wiggle, but they have paid out for a lot of members too. WD will also cover up to £150 an hour and 100% labour, let me pay in four chunks and have reduced the inspection to £40 from £60.
