I had a similar issue last year on a rebuilt and upgraded box. Tozo in the U.S. built it. Break in seemed a bit rough, then was ok, drove it hard for six months and it started slipping from 3rd to 4th under WOT. Tried to diagnose everything, end guess was burnt clutch packs. He sent me another one under warranty, and I promised not to drive the piss out of it. Box has upgraded clutch packs, vb pressure, shifts quick, and my TCU is MTM.
Did you give the box 500 miles to break in? Maybe the bad or lacking fluid glazed/burnt your clutches?

Re: Maximum gearbox torque before slipping
Yes, I did run it carefully for the first 500 miles despite them saying I could drive it hard straight away.
Even if they did offer to take it back I wouldn't go there again as they didn't look after the car whenever they had it. I'll just chalk it down to experience, run it for a few months (whilst I save up) then take it to MRC for an exchange Audi box which in hindsight is what I should have done in the first place.
Oh well..

Seem to remember you was gonna find out what broke it, did you ever find out?lswing wrote:I had a similar issue last year on a rebuilt and upgraded box. Tozo in the U.S. built it. Re: Maximum gearbox torque before slipping
Nope, builder never got to it. Figured it was glazed clutch packs, as there was never debris in the fluid. Maybe the plastic pipe that can crack and not hold pressure. Just wouldn't hold full power...
