Yes Chunk, you've dragged me down to your level and bested me with experience.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Yes. They bug me. These are pictures I got from the shop joe who got handed the job of dealing with me after the guy that took the last pics immediately went on holiday....

They look okay in certain angles and with specific lighting but theyre saggy, pinched messes as far as I am concerned. Certainly not 1300 quids worth
Keeping me on an even keel was a visit to the bodyshop yesterday. Whilst the budget has been veritably blown I at least feel like the work is worth it.
Rolled fronts keeping the oem line

Generic dusty phonecam pics

under sill area was surprisingly clean but will get wax blasted before sill fitting to keep it so

New trim done in gloss black(roof rails already done and fitted)

New trim clips and windscreen fitted, this area is actually one off the bits that is holding the build up. Seems we emptied the dealer of trim clips as 'No-one EVER gets these unless its a heavily damaged vehicle....what the hell are you up too???'

Other than the trim clips(which is why the rear windows are still unfitted)there are a couple trim items on back order like the sill kick plates and the B-pillar trims door bump trims and lower door trims which should arrive in the next week or so

Lookin good mate. The Bentley rims look ace in my eyes actually, really growing on me more and more, in fact when the cars done, youve run out of cash and enthusiasm and decide to stick it up for 8k I might buy the old barge !! lololol
Confirmed what I thought I saw in the seat pics though - have you spoken with Robsons or Jamie Shaw/anyone else, about their experiences with these seats.?? I can possibly drop in to see Jamie tomorrow and show him pics of your seats for an opinion if you think that would help with a possible remedy/professional leverage tool with rejecting them and getting your cash back.
Bilko,
Its where you take a big strong roller - like a massive nylon shopping trolley wheel - and flatten the lips on the inside of a wheelarch to aid wheel/tyre clearance when lowering and fitting spacers to achieve better stance. When done more aggressively you can start to flare the outer arch edge, roll it out, stretch it, all sorts !! Depends on skill/quality of workshop/time/construction of car/heat/luck/BALLS !!! lolol

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
One of the reasons I've went to the lengths I have on the paint job is because I don't have any intentions of selling it lol. It seriously has always been a dream to get one and I had a good year last year that let me do so and to then take it to a level I think it deserves. I love it, it's pretty bonkers and I just hope I get good use out it in the periods that I have a licence lmao.
As for the seats I seriously didn't know if I was being over critical or just had high expectations but I've seen trimmed CS's in a lot of cars that looked better and I just feel let down. Show the pictures by all means as I'm going to need professional opinions to back up my case as I refuse to put those seats in my car in that condition.

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
Bilko, like above arch rolling is the process of rolling the arch return lip to provide more clearance for bigger wheels/tyres. My MTM's used to rub on the rear with the 295s and the mulliners touched enough on full lock to start rubbing the paint of the return lip so had the arches mildly pulled at the rear and rolled flush at the front along with a very slight pull. My car probably is a bit lower than some would like with wheels that a lot don't like but i like the combination and the custom suspension is amazing. Even coming from the previously fitted H+R's the modified H+R race set up is night and day.

Daz, I've had a look at all the re-trimming pics and I feel as if the seat part is fine but the backs looks as if they will not wear well. They still look a bit saggy imo.
Keep up the good work! great thread.

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
They are still a bit saggy. I've got a local company lined up for when I get the seats back but I'll need to deal with getting them back first.
Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
Daz, i had the Porsche GT3 seats from my Supercharged M3 retrimmed... trust me when i say this job on your seats is BELOW PAR, especially for what you need to pay
Trust me again when i say that these seats in the way theyre retrimmed will get much worse when a few months pass with your ass in it
Car looks great BTW, just totally not feeling the same color centres of the wheels

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
That's the feedback on the seats I'm getting anywhere. Actual trimmers reactions are more aghast. It'll get sortedIin due course. The wheels I've gathered are worse than marmite lol but they will be getting swapped about fairly regularly when it's back on the road

Re: RS 51X CS,daytona avant
I was being less polite about them during the week. Latest twist is another hide has now been ordered and if they can prove the first hide was overly dehydrated causing the additional struggle and subsequent poor fit then they will redo both seats....leading that line off trimmer babble was 'this is where we stand.....' then all the technicalese to baffle..... my reply wasn'texactly diplomatic but that's 3 attempts, 7 months and 2.5k down with over 1k expected to go and where i stand is plainly that all trust has left the building and I just want my seats back at this point
