Just ordered a set of ferodo premiers from opie and its cost about £80 for both front wheels. :biggrin3:

IS this correct as its a ridiculous price for a part on this car..

Also I have ordered 4 and presumably they will fit in the standard calipers or will i find i need an adaptor that takes the cost to the customary £1000.

off to MRC it goes for a service and new front pads. :bash:

I'm pretty sure that's about the right price for the 'Premiers'. They should fit OK, although you may need to utilise the backing plate on the back of the pads you're replacing (assuming there's too much play with the new ones).
Be interesting to see how you get on with MRC ; They told me they NEVER allow customers to supply their own parts....

They're priced similarly to the base Mintex ; There's a reason why some pads are under £100 a set and why some are £250+ I guess

They will be similar to the Pagid and Mintex Cheapo pads. Ask Footlong what he things of those...

Don't get me wrong, you may well get on OK with them. My opinion is that having bought cheap/bought twice with pads on other cars however, it's not a road I'd go down with my RS6.
Out of interest, were the positive reviews specifically on the Premiers ? It's my understanding there are at least two different types of Ferodo compounds available before you get to the DS2500's

You can always put some decent pads on if you don't like them. It's an extremely easy job. Even for a doc. :)

The Ferodo Premier do get good write ups, and that is from B5 owners running 500,600+ BHP on track. They're not like the ECP Pagid pads, people that have used both have said the premiers are like night and day. They are the only cheap pad worth putting on an RS.

I will spend a small fortune on tools, take the wheels off, look at the discs and despite telling myself not to, will succeed in conjuring up mental imagery depicting myself driving my rs6 before realising I hadnt tightened a bolt enough and being involved in a single occupancy high speed collision with a tree on a deserted A road with only a rolling hubcap breaking the "deathly" silence. I would then down tools having not changed a thing and make a cup of tea muttering "what was i thinking" to myself as I turn on sky sports news.
