Talk to Ian, the double workshop is a testament to all things tubular. If I was to do it all again I'd have just gone full custom, would've been worth the quality and soooo much more tuneful.

I thought the heatsoak was a problem because it raised the air charge temps. The Wagners may help in this respect.

As for the engine itself being hot, theoretically the hotter the engine the better for efficiency - hence the research into ceramic cylinder liners. We need to limit engine temperature for reliability, but in what way would the oil being 130° instead of 90° cause power loss?

It is the charge temp that gets buggered by heat soak. Sure Doug has tried a front mount cooler which worked well.
Surley if there were vents put in the bonnet this would really help flow up past the engine to help but this would then change the flow that the under tray makes

It just needs negative pressure behind the radiator. Significant temp reduction then.
