Mine are drilled and ventilated and have been skimmed - they work just fine!

Good, will balance out all that weight at the front. Ordered a set, £77 for in total and that includes delivery. I needed them done by tomorrow.

Mr Footlong wrote:With £570-odd spent on my fronts that I only did just under 4000 "XP-10" miles on, I was only happy to sell them on to somebody else after getting them skimmed. Worth doing after having those pads biting down on them like rabid dogs.

I CANNOT recommend highly enough that people seriously weight up the pros and cons of the horribly air-restrictive front disc guards on these. In my experience on this car, they cause the inner side of the disc to heat up far more than that free outer side, the holes in the + disc inner sides clog up far worse and the dist just gets packed in there with nowhere to go compared to the outer sides due to no flaming air really getting to the inner disc face. I took mine off and they are NEVER going back on.

There is also Unit 20's Pheaton front disc ducting mod to consider of course.
This is interesting Mr Footlong. Both my front discs are excessively worn on the inside faces and according to service history they are only 3000 miles old. Unit 20 have advised me that they will need replacing with next pad change (which wont be long I expect).

Seriously considering doing the same.

How long ago did you do this if you dont mind me asking and have you noticed any bad side effects?

You give Amanda grief for fitting Bridgestones but you are fitting cheap inferior discs :bash: what is wrong with you Amar? Don't you love your plus anymore?

Bilko. I've just bought this C6 RS6, that wasn't cheap so in addition to not feeling as flush as normal I needed the discs next day so these will be better vs the worn ones on there now. I hope I never have to replace one of these 420mm bad boy ceramics.

I've been without splash guards since I put my big brakes on. No detrimental effect that I can see.

The C5 will go as the C6 will do everything better, bar noise... But then again, I've not heard a C6 properly...
