...anyway, to get this thread back on topic! Car is back in the garage again for service, MOT and cambelt change and one or two other minor bits and pieces. Collect it tomorrow night all being well but already I know my bill is into four figures (and I don't mean £10.99!)

Courtesy car is an A5 2.7TDI which is ok but I kinda forgot it wasn't my RS6 on the way home tonight which was telling on a couple of my fav corners!

...was starting to get annoyed with the A5 so really glad I got my RS6 back tonight - feels like a new car! :-) Although I'm another two grand poorer! :-(

Just thought I'd post details of my latest repair bills to help those potential new RS6 owners decide if they still want to indulge. :D

First up MOT at £0.00 with voucher from the audi.co.uk web site.

Next, major service (my car has now done 75k having bought it just over two years ago with 36k on the clock). Parts were £287.64 with labour of £150.00.

In the £287.64 were plugs at £66.92; Pollen Filter at £19.73; Air filters (x2) at £14.15 each and 10l of longlife at £117.13.

It was also time again for the timing belt replacement. This included parts of £423.12 and labour of £225.00.

There's a whole list of parts in there that I don't fully understand but listing the major ones we have;

Relay roller (x2) £53.10 each
Relay roller £42.08
V Belt £47.62
Lever £100.31
Belt damper £83.73
Tooth belt £35.49

If you're interested I can publish the part numbers for the above?

Next, as recommended on here, I asked for the thermostat and water pump to be replaced at the same time. Parts here were £99.99 and labour of £150.00. The water pump was £67.11 and the thermostat £14.59.

Lastly I had a knock from the front nearside suspension which was diagnosed as worn upper control arms and these were replaced at £225 for labour and £119.02 for parts.

Add in the VAT and my CDW premium (£15) for the courtesy car (their excess is now up from £500 to £3,000) I've a bill £30 quid shy of two grand.

Still want to buy an RS6?? :)

Great post!
Longlife oil? Thought you would have been better with normal oil considering how many miles you have done.

I still want an RS6 but there aren't many red ones around, not that i can afford one for another month

Not bad considering if you did all the work yourself (like I plan to) it would be half that. I suspect that if you had the work done on many other cars it would easily £500 in labour, so all in all ok for an ultra quick car like the RS6.
