RS6 C5 Gearbox oil choices

Hi Richard,

There's only one kind of Motul MultiATF, and although Lifeguard 5 isnt on the Opie list, they do have the VAG part G 052 162 there. This is the code for the RS6 oil, so all good I think....

Opie do the Pentosin ATF-1 too, at only 95p a litre more. This was the factory fill and is amber in colour - might be important to stop some people freaking out in some kind of "ooh look its red and must be the wrong <beep>" kind of way....

Ah - I've rumbled Sweegie. The Motul oil is also JWS 3309 compliant, which means he can run it in his Saab auto boxes too.

That's the spec sheet I found when researching the Multi ATFs suitability for the RS6 and it quotes all the right specs inc Lifeguard5, but I was about to order it from Opie and for some reason took a look at their spec sheet which doesn't quote half of that other sheet seems odd. I don't care about the oil being red there is only me that's going to see it and I won't tell. The Pentosin might of been the original fill but doesn't quote any corresponding spec numbers to reassure me.

I see you've been using this oil for a long time, how is your box, any issues, and how often do you service it? Do yo know anyone else using the same oil in an RS6?
