Thoughts, anyone?
Re: Thoughts, anyone?
Unless the car is spec'd with 20s (I'm almost certain that the B8S4 wasn't), then I'd never bolt on bigger wheels. D_K, are those FL RS5 mirrors or the old ones? The ones I saw on the '5 I drove were HUGE! Sexy but HUGE! Is that normal?

Bam, with all due respect, are you prepared to be hit by the book...if/when your C5 is up for sale.

The alternative is running a Stage 3 C5 past 10 years. It has providence, it'll sell, eventually.

Agree about the box being all over the shop, the a4 I had for a while was full on toss for picking a gear.

Yes BUT, DK will have another of those cars within the next year anyway. The guy is a whore I tell you, a whore.iR8V10 wrote:What!?!chunky79 wrote:iR8V10 wrote:Dk has a set of V spokes that'd be perfect!
Bloody hell Dave, give the man a chance, he hasn't even got the car yet
I had the a Capristo exhaust, GT Rear Lights, Carbon Mirrors, Carbon Sills well before I bought the car. I specifically got the exhaust as it came up at the right price and knew I wouldn't get another opportunity as couldn't pay the new price and had to have one.
IF Bam wants the Vspokes, same deal. Get them while available and stash for the right car.
Nowt wrong with that!
Hell, DK buys parts for cars he doesn't even know he wants yet! He even gets parts arrive he's forgotton he's ordered for cars he doesn't have anymore! PMSL!

So what's the thinking, bam?

Re: Thoughts, anyone?
I've gone back to whetstone with a "WTF, why hasn't anyone got back to me?" moan, otherwise I'm trying to make time to get over to Fontains foir a looksee. I wanna see if the pana roof is worth it. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a manual either, now that I don't live in the center of London.
I'm very time poor at present but I've been further prompted by an interchange yesterday (had a day off, baby_bam's birthday).
I pulled up to the house with lady_bam and baby_bam, getting out of the car and started to unload when a white Leon pulls up with two yoofs on board:
Yoof "wicked car bruv"
Me *blank stare then slowly offered a thumbs up*
Yoof "I'm pickin' one up next week, the avant one, can't wait"
Me "that'll be nice"
Yoof "It's 4.2 innit?"
Me "yeah"
*Yoofs drive off*
lady_bam "ahhhh, isn't that nice, you've got a chav's car"
Me "shut up"

Re: Thoughts, anyone?
You will get that in any fast car other than exotica. I'm embarrassed when people compliment the M3. I want to tell them that it's just a run-around and occasional track day toy and to aspire to more.
I actually think the RS6 has been surprisingly chav-resistant so far, occasional Nimrod notwithstanding. Maybe that'll change now they're getting cheaper, but I reckon it's more likely to go the way of the RS2 and become rare and shift more into that exotica category.

Re: Thoughts, anyone?
Nah Chavs need the car to stop and go the same as the rest of us. The fuel costs to make it go make most peoples eyes water and the cost of brakes etc to make it stop can induce full on hysteria
Maybe we'll see the odd knuckledragger with one, but it won't be for long.
