Dropped mine of yesterday and picked up the RS5, the service lady did tell me it may be a while before they look at mine :bigblink: oh what a shame.
The RS5 is a totally different car compared to the 6, the engine note, pick up, handling everything, but i would say I don't think it's as quick, you just don't get that kick in the back from the turbos. The engine I do like, leave it in drive mode and it sophisticated and quiet, put put it down to sport mode and the engine gives it that little rev and the valves in the exhaust open ready to hear that awesome V8 sound track and when you do use the right pedal more that noise is just so addictive.
I know it's weird but it feels a heavier car but it's not, but at the moment woould I have one of these? no not yet but give me a few more days in this and we will see.

I'm jealous!

Love the RS5, I nearly got an s5 instead if the 6, but the 6 just felt more fun. I did like the newer interior though with the gadgets!
I used to own a 6, now I'm just a lurker!

I bet it's like the RS4 B7 - doesn't feel as quick, but in fact is. Just a very linear power delivery. Love the turbos for the push in the back they give you.

Got a phone all from audi Friday asking me a set of questions regarding how it happened, if I had a baby seat on it( which I did not) so they can't blame that, they also asked where it was last serviced, which I was amazed, as this car from brand new has had full audi service history so I'm sure they could of looked that up, so they can't say it wasn't serviced by them either. What the man did say though that this issue has gone very high up in Audi and they are taking this very serious.

I imagine audi will do all they can to identify rectifiable faults before someone hits them with a personal injury claim. Its good to see audi exercising common sense and investigating this thoroughly.

I'd like to see their (audi) reaction, if the car didn't have FASH. Lot of these cars are now being serviced by indies or owners themselves. I wonder if that had an implication on this matter.

Good design is when it fails safe, not the case here.

I can't see how any servicing would pick up a fault such as this and I doubt they'd want the poor publicity from someone being burned by something as simple and common as a seat warmer.

The fix will probably be an inline fuse :audibash:

Exactly, that's why I don't understand why audi was asking about service history. Would they treat johnny differently if the car didn't have full audi service history?

The RS5 is really growing on me, it's a very solid car with a great engine. As my daughter says it "farts" when you boot it and it changes up gear, but a infectious sound. I've got it for at least another week so will get some snaps hopefully on a non rainy day.
