As a guide, the absolute BEST I could get from the C6 using my proven economy drive/route was 23mpg ...vs. Equivalent of 30mpg in the C5 ...

30mpg in the C5?
I've never seen more than 21-22! Even after leaking intercoolers were fixed...

I could get 30mpg London to Birmingham if I drove at 60/65

I went to Tesco earlier (just an excuse to drive it) got a load of crap I didn't need. Anyway, took it easy and reset the MPG beforehand. It did 10ish MPG on the 3/4 mile trip. I didn't boot it at all, 30ish MPH and gentle acceleration. It was such a nice relaxing drive with the Jukebox full of either DK or Liam's old songs, my old IPod hooked into the AMI and the super smooth DRC. I just can't get over how perfect it is. Over. The. Moon.

Bang for buck yeah, I said the £2000 guesstimate for the drc was a bit high imo....
£2000 will seem cheap when u need some new ceramic records up front no?
I like the C6 but its doesn't mean the C5 deserves a ribbing.. As you compare and generally review it as naff inside etc, I disagree...
I think the C5 is a stunning piece of kit and the less buttons the better

With the mileage I do, and the fact that ceramics last four times as long as standard steel brakes, my C6 won't need new ceramics for another 25 years. In which time the C5 would have had £6k's worth of cambelt changes, not to mention brakes.

I have posted an informed, honest and unbiased review comparing the two models as I was asked to. I haven't come on here and said 'The C5 is <beep>'. If you''re going to take it personally and be over sensitive, go read the Audi magazine circa 2002, there you will find plenty of biased/flattering reviews.

The folder that came with mine from the specialist had lots of lovely articles with it right next to all the receipts
