I used vwcruise to replace the rnsd with a refurbished e.

Not cheap, but they came to my house to do it.

However, the laser assembly went wrong recently and I had them replace it (another £240+vat as it was outside the warranty). My advice is that if you go the refurbished route, make sure the unit has had the laser replaced (apparently, the laser is always on whether you use the Nav or not).
