I wonder what the comparison would be like if the C5 had a manual gearbox in it. Yes the C5 is still heavier (imagine how much weight you would save going manual) but I bet it would be a much more involving drive.

But you need a ridiculous speedo range for a quick car in Km's I have not seen a buggati speedo (or similar) but having an analogue gage from 0-400 seems daft to me.

Drag times are 1/4 mile, a pint will always be a pint and Roger Banister is not remembered for breaking the 4 minute 1.609344 kilometre

So the steps are a little smaller? Those of us with a metric RS6 have a nice 2-step speedo with 0-100 taking up half the space which is convenient on regular roads and non-highway speeds. It tops out in the same place yours does, and the speed has the same amount of digits - 3. Doesn't take up any more space than mph.
It's not like the difference between kmh and mph is 10 or 50, it's 1.6. The mile has its place for those kind of motorsport "events" with history but there's no reason to keep using it in daily life out of nostalgia. Mile? Nautical mile? Knots? Plenty of choice but the mathematics of the world are based on the decimal system.

Don't care about the exact values but the metric RS6 speedometer does look better
