Hey chaps, anyone interested in this warranty should give East Kent Audi a call on 01227 732 700. Speak to someone in Servicing (I think I spoke to Mark), and ask them about the INCHCAPE. Its better you ask them your questions than me... If you get any more detailed info be sure to put it on here so all can benefit! Does indeed sound like a good deal, and will be looking in to it a bit deeper myself!

Inchape warranty

Post by rob8457 » Tue Jul 14, 2009 9:19 pm

I contacted Kent Audi today regarding the warranty, they have said they will only give the warranty if the car has been fully maintained by the Audi dealer supplying the warranty, my car was maintained by Swindon Audi so I rang them the said my car was eligible for the 3 year plan B warranty at a cost of £850 all i need to do is just get a Audi health check done of which i am arranging to do in the mean time they are sending through the details of the warranty, upon dissecting the booklet to see what is covered i will then make the decision either to go for the warranty or not, can anybody recomend this warranty? would appreiciate any advise.

I called up today as my warranty is due 21 july been weighing up the cost my heart says stay with Audi warranty but back pocket steering me away

the B plan is named only same as the Audi warranty but no breakdown cover(which is great used it twice now) the other thing is the Labpur rate which they will not pay and you have to pay the short fall or take the vehicle to an independent.

Also from experience you may get some help from Audi CS under goodwill if you have tried to protect your investiment using there warranty

but the Audi warranty is double the price for a years cover apposed to 3 years

Monidal under write the warranty

Will have a read of the booklet and also phone up a few things to see if covered

The only issue is if the advisor words it incorreclty they blow the calim out
I have dealt with most warranty companies and they are all the ssame
need to check what there self authority limit is someone mentioned £2k which sounds great but I would want to make sure myself on that

I will know by Friday

Reading though this thread I thought I'd found the holy grail! 3 years warranty for £850?! I now see that the dealer that supplies the warranty must have had the care of the car during servicing - I'm edinburgh and the car spent its former life in London; seems I'm out.

Been talking to Swindon Audi the sales manager said i would be able to get the warranty i rang today and it was his day off they tranfered me to service manager because i wanted to book it in for the 20 point health check, he told me that they will not do the warranty because they need to sell the car to me then the warranty can be added, i said are you sure about this so he rang Inchcape they said no i cannot have the warranty on the RS6, so back to square Fooooking 1.

Huh??

I'm confused here.

Right, first, lets just say I'm some Joe with an RS6 that has no warranty whatsoever (i.e. me). Do I phone Inchcape direct, Kent Audi or any other Audi dealer (i.e. Hatfield Audi which is nearest to me) regardless of what service history I have etc. etc.?

Second, will I get a 3 year warranty for 850 quid subject to the 20 point check?

Third, if summit goes up the spout, I can just take the car to a Non-Audi place (i.e. Grizz) and get whatever work needs doing??

All sounds a bit too good to be true for 850 squids?

Fourth, am I being thick here? I read the thread a couple of times and I'm still a bit confused as to who/what/where qualifies.. :biggrin2:

Not sure about the 'used car' scenario.

I bought the new car with the additional Inchcape warranty taking the car to 5 years.

I emailed the garage in question to check whether any claim was based on servicing at their dealership. The Sales Manager responded to say that the Sales Rep was away until next week, & would I wait until then.

I responded by saying that 'someone else' can deal with the matter, and if not, would the Sales Manager kindly deal with it. "These stealers"

The facts are if you have not purchased the car from Audi then you cannot get the INCHCAPE extra warranty, if anyone knows different please say,

i bought my S4 cab from Audi used, I got a 3 yr INCHAPE extended warranty for £700. . . . so I think there may be a link somewhere with having bought the car from Audi

I spoke to kent Audi
Explained it is coverd by Audi warranty and he said I could put it on as long as I have a multi point check

recieved the policy booklet and the cover looks good

Need to check the labour rate and self authority bit...don't really want my car sitting around waiting for authority and an inspector to come down and look at it

Will let you know the out come

It is looking like you may have to buy the car fromn Audi to beneift from the inchcape warranty, but you CERTAINLY DO NOT have to have it serviced by them. There was a ruling on this in the law courts a few years ago, bugger me if i can remember what is called tho. My car had 1 service qat Tonbridge Audi, and the box done and 3 sets of DRC, the next services were all done at Unit20, the warranty company have even asked me if I am getting Grizz to do the warranty work, because "we ahvee worked with him before and he knows his stuff".
If you buy the extended warranty, you cet one yeart from Audi under the normal 12 month dealer warranty, then the next 24 months is taken by the warranty company. If you bought the car privately. its probably a licence for the WC to print there own money, a car without history...MMMMM rubbinh=g hands together. Then you get one of the companies (think it was Mondial), who will no longer cover the RS6 because of the DRC.
It's all Bollox.
Half of what you read is bull and the other half is all <beep>.
