One of the first symptoms of saturnism is excessive cursing. Just saying...

I think I need to stop using those emojis which don’t seem to work well, if at all and have crude underlying code. I guess someone had fun naming those back in the day. I was not directing any animosity towards anyone intentionallyShoppinit wrote:One of the first symptoms of saturnism is excessive cursing. Just saying...

Re: SJP continued
Well it's mostly off, didn't get much time to work on it last few days as work has been hectic last week before Christmas.TOPMAN wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 4:28 pmHi Tom
You most certainly do not need to drop the engine
There are 16 bolts and 4 nuts which hold the manifold in place. If you have removed all of these, the water pipes and the vacuum pipe, the 2 boost return pipes (audi calls them pressure pipes) then all it will stuck on is the 2 dowels. You need to lever the intake manifold away from those dowels before you can lift it out. As I told Bilko recently, a bit of brute force and ignorance is needed here![]()
Remember, while you are in there it's a good time to change all gaskets, seals, some pipes, IAT Sensor, PCV valve and the electric pump is a must![]()
I'm happy to help, just shout here if youre still stuck.
Regards
Craig
Craig, could I pester you for information on which parts you changed and any part numbers?
I've got the SJP number, will call TPS Monday but anything else would be great.
I've got vacuum pipework as that was the secondary part of replacing the brake booster line, everything is bare original + installation of LPG so it's quite painful getting stuff to come free without destroying 10 other things in close proximity hahaha
