What do you mean. The car itself or the turbos?

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
Well today has been a good & bad day. I have finally seen some progress pictures of what I’m spending all my money on
Both of my cylinder heads have had their mild port & polishing complete. 90%of all my valve train kit has also been complete. Just needing/waiting on the inlet valves to be done then the heads can actually go off and be cleaned in prep for them going back on the bottom end.
The port & polishing plus port matching has also been complete. Exhaust manifolds and inlet manifold.

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
While I haven’t got the car with me, I have still been cracking on with other parts to do with this project.
First of all, is my carbon fibre scuttle panel. I’ve also been working on making the front crash bar from carbon fibre too. This is purely just to save some weight on the front end of the car. We have also sent a few of the engine components off to be powder coated. Pictures to follow once we get them back.

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
More news I have now managed to source a griddle plate for my build.
It’s in final testing and development stages then I should have 1 with me.

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
Is that an additional part added to give more rigidity to the bottom end?

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
That is exactly what it does. Just aids in strengthening the bottom end.
It is an additional part. That bolts on to the bottom of the block then the oil pan/pans go on after.

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
Taken from the internet.
A main bearing girdle provides stiffening to your engine block. Since high forces act on the entire engine, especially in tuned engines, the use of girdle plates is advisable. They prevent the crankshaft from bending too much and withstand even high torques. The bending of the crankshaft affects the whole engine and can cause major damage.

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
Sounds like you'll need it with the plans you have for this engine

Re: Engine build and 6MT swap
Another update in my quest to save some weight.
My front cross member/crash bar is now ready to be fitted onto my bumper. This item replaces the alloy bar on the back of the front bumper. (I know people are going to say why are you changing from alloy to carbon. The reason is because carbon is actually strong than alloy. That’s why, as well as saving over 2kg in weight)
