Got the drivers door window regulator finished and all working. Slightly annoyingly there is a support bracket for the end of the motor, but the replacement regulator frame positions the motor slightly differently so it didnt fit. I couldnt see it being a massive issue not having the support for the motor so unbolted the bracket.
Main thing is the window goes up and down again! 😅

Next job is rear suspension overhaul and rear right wheel bearing change. Essentially all the bushes are looking pretty haggard so will be replaced. Hunting down the specific RS ones was an expensive exercise...

Are you sticking with standard bushes then. When you do the rear subframe over haul?
As there are a few aftermarket option out there now. With some not really making a big difference on feel. If you went for the lower stiffness option. Would also probably workout cheaper too.

Yes have stuck with Audi bushes. As its a road can and I never intend to track it etc, I have an evo for that, I want to retain the OEM ride quality.

I'm not planning on doing the subframe bushes them selves as they appear fine.

I'm open to recommendations for bush brands you think are a good replacement.

Well personally from reading your reply I would have gone with strongflex road bushes if it was me. Still retains the OE ride quality just with a better quality bush.

If you want bushes for the subframe I believe the only option you have is solid metal bush's inserts or powerflex bushes.

I had always assumed that the poly bushes were always much harder than the OE ones. I'll know for next time! Have you used them yourself?

All the rear wishbones and hubs are off the car. Will have to wait till next weekend to finish replacing the bushes and fitting back together again.

I have changed every mount and bush on my car for the stiffest ones on the market. But that because I use my car for track days and fast road.

along with coilovers and upgraded anti roll bars too.

Managed a bit more work on the old girl today, oil change and sump re-sealed.
Car is much quieter on start up with the fresh oil.
Took the strainer off to clean out a small amount of debris. The red stuff was hard like paint, not sure what it was. Nothing unusual in the sump. All was pretty clean.

Thanks, would rather do a load of work now while the weather is rubbish and hopefully have less problems when ever things get warmer and drier!

Leak from the sump appears to be fixed, no drops have come back and all looks dry around the sump pan seal.

I'm about to put the front bumper on and there is this sensor (I think it's a temp.sensor for the solar sunroof) where is it supposed to go? It was just tucked ontop of the oil cooler pipes

It's a temp sensor for the dash display of ambient temperature. Doesn't matter where you put it because it always gives stupid temps anyway, but it's supposed to clip somewhere on the bumper IIRC.

Cheers Shop. There are some unused clips inside the crash bar I can probably tuck it into.

If you still have the oil cooler plastic air guide ,there should be a hole on the passenger side of the air guide , thats the originl location for the external temp sensor, mine didnt have the air guide when I got it so mines zip tied behind the centre grill , like Shop said though , it never gives the right Temp!!!
