Alright, I thought the bufkin was already sorted out. In all cases, don't play cheap on those o-rings, you want to change them all for peace of mind..

I won’t get the 12 bufkin pipes I am getting made until next week.
Another job to be done.
Didn’t want to replace it with another plastic one.
And the brass one I bought from Poland had differences compared to the original bufkin pipe.
On the basis that I only want to have this done once. I thought it better to replace it with one that has a good track record.
Ps going with viton o rings.

FWIW the polish bufkin pipe has served me well without any issue for 3 years now, but of course the ones you're doing with exact oem specs can only be better. And yes, Viton o-rings is the best option.

Thanks classic.
It’s also great to know that the bufkin pipe can be done with engine in situ.
Hopefully get to grips with my weird oil leak.
It has taken the shine off all the work that has just been done.
But it hasn’t dampened the joy of owning one of these totally amazing cars.

Looks like it’s new oil that’s leaking. Got ramp time arranged for tomorrow so see if we can identify where it’s coming from.

Hi Ben.
Worse leak.
Draw a line through the middle of the front doors.
Then middle of bonnet and boot.
That marks where the oil is dripping from.
Will try to sort this one first as this is the worse of the two leaks.

Sounds like the transfer box output shaft seal. Very common. And the timing might just be coincidence.

Yes Ben. That’s what my best guess would be.
Having just had the oil drained and replaced I think that’s where it is coming from.
Time will tell. Thank you for your advice.
Just for info. No leak when car left stationary.
When I have been out for a run that’s when oil leaks out.

Could have been that the level was low before Grizz did the change, that's why it's leaking now its up to the correct level. Hasn't that seal superceded as well?

Hi dunc. Yes mate that’s my thoughts
If that is the leak. I will see if unit 20 can book me in and see if they can sort it.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.
If the oil level was that low. I am pleased that I had it renewed.
I don’t know if the seal has been superseded.
I know that the transfer box hasn’t been looked at since 2012. I would never have thought of getting it checked without the recommendations from this site.
So I am pleased that it was done so just need to get the leak sorted.
Ben. Are you available at the weekend lol.

It’s not a difficult job. There’s a good write-up in the FAQ. There’s an improved flange with a different seal that superseded the old seal. I just used the old seal. Holding up fine. Probably just jinxed it now.

Ha ha. Doesn’t that always happen. As soon as you say it’s ok. That’s when it bites you in the arse.
Ps. I don’t have the knowledge or the expertise Ben. So I will leave it to the experts.

That made me laugh. Isn’t that the truth. My account is now empty.
Now start on my wife’s account ????????
For info. Been in touch with grizz. Checking on availability of parts at the moment.
