Yes, got to agree with you as it does sound a bit far fetched but this really is a different car after the service. I mean it's just not the same as before, not only is the power down but the gear box is changing differently. I used to be able to drive in 5th at 30mph and it's deffinetly not doing that, also in the advert when I bought the car it said it had a revo switchable map ??? I have the printout from revo which shows going from 480bhp to 520 bhp.
I thought only the MRC map let you change into 5th at 30mph. Anyone of the gents with the Viper box map do this?
The box does adjust it's behaviour depending on how it's driven, but it won't lose the 5th at 30mph just like that. Strange one, I give you that.

Update...Been to Auto tech in port Glasgow yesterday, map is still on the engine but can't check the gearbox. Need to contact Viper and see what they say. Loss of power is a boost leak somewhere so I need to go back and have it smoked tested. Readings for the boost are down 0.5 bar, I take it that's a fair bit ?

That sounds like a more plausible explanation for your issue. Fading maps indeed.

Standard boost is about 0.8 bar above atmospheric IIRC.

Thanks Shopp, going back tomorrow so hopefully find the leak and happy days. Just need to find out what's happening with the box...could the boost leak affect it ?

Yes, it calculates shift points and stuff based on calculated engine torque which will be affected by MAF readings, etc. Sort out the leak and hopefully everything will be back to normal.

Can someone explain the engine mount setup please? I've seen the sensor located on them, how does this affect the dampening properties of it?
I can't see any additional pipe work to pump up the pressure and such.

RS4’s have electrohydraulic engine mounts with oil inside and electronic valving to restrict the oil flow. This is done by electronic pulses from the ecu depending on engine load etc

These are sealed units so no pipes.

Do they commonly fail or reliable with mileage?

They fail frequently.

lol there's a surprise. I'm starting to see how Audi ownership works, if it's fitted to the vehicle it will at some point break

When I first got my 6 it had a DNA map on the TCU which would change in to 5th at 30 mph. I'd never heard of DNA so promptly took it to MRC.
