I can recommend a place in Harlow Essex. They are called Vic Sell autos. They are the only people I would trust to paint anything tbh. They have got a fb page so go have a look. It is a father and son and I went to college with the son Dan. They business is built on their reputation and they regularly do Skyline paintwork from the place next door to them. They may not be the cheapest but I promise their work will be second to none.

Not what I was saying at all. You were slating the independents again, I was then commenting in your steering rack issue THAT SHOULD have been sorted whilst the engine was out. Stealers are called Stealers for a reason.
I'm glad for your sake that they are doing it with the engine in, bet you had to force the fact though.

My steering rack didn't fail until I got her back ......sheer bad luck and no I didn't have to force the fact. 3 hrs is what my dealers quoted me to change the rack plus parts ..... I will slate independents as that's my right as the ones I have used have tried to pull my thongs up my arse for far more than 3 hrs to change a rack!

I used to own a bodyshop.

It was a sideline for race prep and such on mine and friends cars, as well as customers, usually Jap stuff, the odd yank, bm etc.

5k should roughly cover a decent job without any flash, on a decent, straight car with windows out and inside and out. Trick finishes, lots of metalwork or prep and fitting crap kits from Taiwan would take you close to 5 figures, but that's craziness imho and is only for muppets with cars too low and wheels too big :bigwave: :bigblink: :biggrin3:

Depending on your location I can recommend a couple of places where I know the owners personally and can give you their details and know you will get top work for a good price.

PM me if you wish.

We sprayed both of those :D Believe it or not the car is brown/red/purple !! :FIREdevil:

Your work must be good if you have to explain what colour it is  (that was a joke by the way mate, don't flip at that)
I would rather have the CAT, mainly cause that's what I work on every day. It's funny that any company mentioned on here has a bad story to put next to them, and I mean any company.

Sheer bad luck? Didn't fail till you got it back? If that was an independent, would you be saying the same OR saying they broke it? Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Look at it from this > angle and also this < angle.

I would say it was just bad luck as my independent mot guy who by the way ISN'T anything to do with audi warned me at the last mot there was play in the rack. Was on my list of future things to do as I didn't expect it to fail so quickly! :boohoo:

These words often go together, but all too frequently it's in this order:

Yes. Which is a disturbing mental image compared to what lady_bam endures when I say "I'm just going to slip my thongs on to take the garbage out."
