http://www.rs6.com/showthread.php/22688 ... utting-out

I had to have a N75 valve replaced on when/after being tuned as it turned out to be a weak link and died so could be a potential problem as mentioned in a few threads I have read, amongst other things. With these cars there is soooooo little room to inspect everything really close up prior to mapping that it isn't uncommon for these niggles to pop up post-map running with regard to vacuum hoses etc.

Again, I am not saying what I have said is right as I am far from the most technical on here!

Thanks Footlong.

Just gave it a good going over there...reached 130 light years and was still pulling like a train.
We have just rescanned and the only issues are:

18058 - Power train data bus......Missing message
18325 - Coolant relay....

Rolling test 3rd gear at 50mph pick up versus Z4 - pick up and acceleration was fast, responsive and seemed more 'urgent'.

Same map as me. It's a good one. I can post dyno and 30-80 times if you want to compare.

Hi Shop

Can was taken for a wee drive - a few notches above the limit. We have since rescanned and the code has not popped up.

The fault must have happened since the map since no way grizz would have left old fault codes. It didn't happen on your wee drive, but it probably will again. That's the thing with electrically operated valves.

If your N75 is faulty then you could be getting less or more (as in that fault code) than you should. Or both. But not simultaneously, obviously.

How much is the N75 to replace and how easy if this is the issue?

N75 isn't really sheap if memory serves but more often than not, these cars will need at least on in their lifetime. As with so many of the electronic bits on these, the good old intermittent fault pops up but in the case of a suspected N75 on its way out, you honestly are best getting it done.

Grizz, if you are on, quick sidetrack, did those guys drop the seats off to go in to Lee's car? Thanks.

£60 should see you for the part. It's at the back of the engine though, under the airbox, so a little inconvenient to change.

Doug spotted mine was faulty at the rolling road day, torque was stupidly high. Part cost £50 and Chris changed it in 6 mins. Worth checking all hoses whilst doing it. Sure Shopp has posted a pic at some point with them labeled.

Edit, Sweegie has put a link to the pic, good man.
