Pug 205gti for me, great fun. Each to their own though, the old golf scene is massive.
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

My mates old 205 track car was running a turbo'd fully built MI with gf doors boot wings and bonnet. 170 in 4th and done an easy 58 sec lap at knockhill. They can be fun but ive always had a preference for mk1s. The vr is mainly for fun, the green one is my serious car.

I like the golf's, just not as much as the 205's. I have never been in a Mk1 or MK2 golf  . At some point i would love to have another 205 gti as a fun car, that along with about 20 other cars :bash:

I like the idea of running a fleet of C5 RS6ers.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Standard, full on stooopid slush box and a manual? Sounds good to me.

I would take one of two modded 106GTIs I owned over a Golf to be perfectly honest. They are ok cars but I don't get the obsession with them.
Current:

23' C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 23' RS E-Tron GT Carbon Vorsprung

Gone:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

Id rather crash 1 golf than 10 205s or 106s or saxos tbh. Small french cars are made of cheese and id prefer something substantial wrapped around me for that inexplicable occasion when the red mist has descended. I like them to look at but wouldn't own one due to the build quality.

If you put it that way, then yes, I would rather only be in 1 crash than 10  . Those 205's are very light and you can tell how, but that's what makes them so chuckable (think I just made that up but i'm sticking with it). Lets hope you never get In the position to find out how solid the golf's are.
I like the pic's above, but the cars are too low, and I think i'm getting old.

Tried and tested the golfs integrity on a couple cars now :'( Weightwise theres not much between a 205 and a mk1especially in track guise but both have handling characteristics that are horses for courses. Both cars will have useable suspension heights as they are essentially for fun albeit with minor differences. Der tuhd (brown) is going to be my daily while the rs gets painted and the green baron is primarily for hard track day sessions.

Good too see yet another irrelevant update from yourself golfather........

He likes his pictures does bookfather.
I really would have thought the 205 was a lot lighter than the golf. There were a few golfs at AdI on the track yesterday, a couple of quick ones and also a learner driver

The whole purpose of the RS6, Q Car, Uber wagon, is the 'wolf in sheep's clothing'. My RS6 is debadged, but those in the know, 'know the beast'.
And those that don't know the beast hear the warble of the V8 as it passes them, or they just see a family wagon rocket past them.

Whichever way, I'm grinning.

:beerchug:
This^^^^^^^^^^^

Mine is also debadged I like to be understated/looked past etc I mean it's 500hp family wagon :)
