A bit of both really. I dropped in on my way home from work so theres three/four weeks worth of clothes, laptop, tools, work stuff and a fulltank of petrol. The suspension doesnt help because even when its empty it sits butt down and I cant get the coils unseized. The new H+R races should be here for the end of the week which should solve this problem. Once the old coils are off ill get them reconned and probably sell them. I could unseize them with force but id rather not wreck them and I felt they were a bit soft anyway so definitely passed their best and in need of an upgrade

Sorry I'm confused. The only bit of the suspension which governs the ride height is the spring length (and the adjusters if they are fitted). Is this the case?

NB: Remember to copper grease your adjuster rings people! - and maybe protect the coilovers from road grit with some lovely wrap around covers.

Yes thats the case. My car has coilovers already fitted but they are four years old and in need of a recon. I think i'd rather use molycote or teflon grease rather than copperslip on coilovers but thanks :beerchug:

Yuck - it's C6 - get it out of here!!

Intriguing that he's gone with air suspension though! Had that on a Citroen AX once - fun - but nightmare handling! Just what you'd want with 750BHP!

Wait until ive had a play at least hahaha. Im back up north just now so no updates on anything for a couple weeks. Doug is going to align the mk1 and deliver it after a shakedown then fit the new stuff on the rs and give it a fluid change ready for the run the runway event on the 29th.

I know I'll get stick for this because I think I'm the only one that thinks the VW Golf is the most overrated car in the world. They're mostly just boring, front wheel drive, four cylinder, family hatchbacks. The cherry on the cake was when someone complimented my RS6 plus ''Nice mate, looks sweet with them Golf wheels'', but I could understand his confusion, there are so many tarted up with Audi bits. If I were to buy on old project car, it would have to be an E30 325 M Tech II, rear wheel drive, six cylinders and the 2 door, not a hatch.

Oh I don't know, you'd be surprised how much an LSD and good geo can change a boring, front wheel drive, four cylinder, family hatchback. Lady_bam has a Fiat 100HP (that I always end up driving) and it's ridiculously good in the twisties, a good FWD car is more about reactions, a good RWD is more about planning i.e. how am I going to set up for this corner/weight change/multiple direction change. I'd like an old Golf project over an old E30 project, its power would be more usable, whereas it'd be too easy to piss away the E30's power... IMHO.

*zipped... rip* Hmmmm, I've put weight since I last wore this flamesuit!!!
No matter where you go, there you are.

Not a Golf lover either but I have no problems with stupidly fast fwd cars. The LCR was ballistic at point to point stuff just with great tyres and good geo. I had seriously considered giving her a damn good Quaifing earlier this year before I got sucked back in to the world of jap crap.
