I'm running Milltek decat downpipes on standard map and engine runs fine, the cel comes on at varying times but a quick mouse click on VCDS turns it off. There's no loss of power when the cel comes on its just annoying. What I noticed with the decat pipes is an increase in turbo whistle and faster spool up.

That's what I want to here mate about the cel mate.

Well anyway, I'm quite excited about going stage two and will be getting a bespoke map, I want to get fuel droplets into the exhuast (like the RS5 in top gear and the C6) so it does that little V8 burp on every upshift, I cannot wait. I am hoping for 540 BHP with a pre cat delete, and a stage two remap. I'm not sure about upgrading the filters, I bought some OEM ones from Audi a few weeks back and will probably fit them, I've seen a photo of the ITG filters totally destroyed on RS6.com, and it shat me up, plus are they really worth £75 each, really?

Mmmm, looks like they haven't been maintained properly mate. Have you asked Doug if he can do the droplet fart thing.

Bilko - Did you notice any performance increase? The CEL would annoy me so it will definelty need to be mapped, not cheap though.. £750 just for the remap, the guy who did my BMW said he can do it including a gearbox remap for £350 but you get what you pay for I suppose. I'm going to ask for more torque lower down the rev range too, not sure what is/isn't possible but the bonus with stage 2 is you get to tell them how you want it.

Possibly more bottom end power, probably due to the turbos spooling up quicker as less exhaust back pressure holding them back.

Anyone removed their downpipe's? I know it's a long shot but i'm looking to do this in a couple of weeks and would like to know how much time i need to put aside.

Doug advised against it, the reason was a little to too techy for me to understand, but when the C6 does it, it serves a purpose, I think he mentioned engine braking and cutting fuel from injectors, however if I went 100% catless I would get some noise and possible flames!
I've been quoted six hours labour to gut my pre cats, or four hours labour to fit Milltek catless pipes. Milltek catless downpipes are only about £500. I was very happy with the prices quoted.

Dunc, just re checked my quote. Pre cat removasl is five hours labour. Works out at £340 with MRC. I Think Unit 20 labour rate is about £60 so with them your looking at £300, and then with the 10% off it works out at £270. Might not be worth the hassle doing it yourself if you can get it done that cheap, depends if you have access to a ramp and the time I suppose.
