Don't be precious, welcome to the forum but everyone gets an FON - it's rule one.

My second post (see quote above comment)was actually towards the guy who registered today just to post he had a car for sale - as you say this is a site for people who have, want or just like s and RS cars not to sell them.... (well there is a classified section)

*edit, just looked back and noticed that in my original post I forgot to FON it - my bad

FON is rule 2.
"Pictures or it doesn't exist/didn't happen" is Rule 1.

As above these ecu by todays standards is pretty primitive, and anyone who calls themselves a "mapper" can plot ignition and fuel tables, including cold start sequences and other fuelling strategies, obviously not everyone has hardware, dongles and software to every ecu which is why people specialise in certain fields.

These are not special ecus but I do appreciate that there are probably only a few who would Come on recommendation, these aren't your average 2.0 ltr cable throttle engine but there certainly nothing out of the ordinary.

doh, guys (marv8 and bam bam) i must apollogise, i did not realise this was not directed at me, sorry again, i am new to this forum lark and have now learned my lesson, once again all, i am so gratefull for all your advice, does seem like the rs6 could be quite an expense, but 450 bhp in a family car tempts me, love my a4 special edition but previously having a brand new s3 and having to sell due to us having a baby, i now have the need for speed again (far greater speed) lol ! if i had big enough balls id go buy myself an rs4 but then i couldnt afford a third car, hence why the cheaper option of an rs6 would allow me a cheap run around as well.

Hello all,

I too am looking to buy an RS6 :)

Graemegdc, i know exactly the car you're looking at as I was in the showroom talking to the salesman when you called him (i think he said there was a guy looking at the car!)

Car looks in reasonable nick, paint has a few chips and could do with a machine polish... some trim needs attention and there's a small burn in the rear leather seat. Star performance are well respected up here, and I believe they have been servicing the car recently also, including gearbox oil changes.

I wont be taking the car myself as its not quite the right spec for me, but if I can be of any help just let me know.

Cheers,

Steve

FON!

RS246.com shrinks the wide world of RS6 ownership yet again. Burn on the leather doesn't sound great.

It has been a while since I have posted ... but after significant further expenditure on my C5, she is approaching 50,000 miles since I bought her in May 2003.

She is as great today, as she was nearly 9 years ago.

Sounds like a Hovis advert.

Surely what floats any boat is that it displaces more mass of water than its own mass. How much mass of water are you displacing, bam? Of course the same principal applies to hot air ballons and hot air. Maybe making hot air is more your thang? :boots:

This coming from a guy who bought a C6, made it 700hp and sold it because he prefered the C5. :notworthy: :beerchug:
