Doug said that the PSS kit is fairly hard in his opinion and the PSS9 kit gives a more comfortable ride in comparison. Really don't want anything resembling a rattly old go kart so will wait until Tax/VAT/holidays are over and will be addressing this when she goes up for the next set of upgrades next year.
Doug is right it's fairly hard...depends what your after...I likened the ride to that on Z4 if thats any use?

It's not exactly soft on PSS9 either. The closest I have experience is the DRC on an RS4 with the Sports Plus suspension. Firm, definitely firm.

What has your experience of southampton audi been, only reason I ask is that I`m based in southampton and am obviously close enough to both camberley and banbury for it to not become a royal pain in the harris to get this vehicle serviced/upgraded etc.

Incidentally whereabouts are you based as I`ve not seen you at any of the local petrol stations :biggrin3:

Hence why we recommend the PSS9s over the PSS - the damping is better on the 9s and obviously you have more adjustability.

Virdee, please feel free to PM me your best price delivered for the PSS9 kit as if the saving is enough then I might just be able to bring myself to pay for the many hours of labour to fit them :(

Thanks,

Nick :)

They are dead easy to fit. See my tutorial in the stickies.

Right, you are all bastards :D. I have caved in and the DRC is being torn out and PSS9 goodness is going on along with the uprated ARBs that were already on the worksheet to fit.

Thanks to those involved in getting me to spend money I sooooooo didn't want to be spending at this time of year. :bigwave:

I have barely driven the car yet really so hopefully I will actually be able to tell any difference at all :P. Just praying that it doesn't feel like a rock hard bucket that just rattles, I don't really want to lose any comfort but I fear I am dreaming.

No idea as I am in no rush to get her back at all (I still have the MRC battle wagon sitting on the drive which hasn't moved since coming back from there on Thursday) and I keep changing the goalposts for MRC. You have to be a patient person to deal with me ;)

I dropped my car off in early September, I only just got it back a couple of days ago... they've dealt with worse than you and I. It'll be a walk in the park for them.
IIRC Paul dropped his '6 off for gearbox issues and moved the goalposts so far he ended up with a manual conversion, GT30 snails and a whole mess of custom fabrication, it put out 778PS and 864Nm
No matter where you go, there you are.

My DRC turned out to be very broken - was all checked on 07/12/2011 as part of the service and was ok, nasty noises started on 10/12/2011, today it was diagnosed as control valves disintegrating and also contaminating all shocks with broken bits - £4k to fully repair - i'd obviously be considered totally deranged if i even considered repairing it so i'm going to take great pleasure in binning the whole system including the silly lowering springs.....

On another note Southampton Audi - they are usually ok with me - been using them for around 11yrs with a variety of cars - normally fairly helpful and get the job done although they are never the cheapest, dont think i've ever been horribly dissapointed with them etc - i.e did not charge me for todays work at all and washed and hoovered the car for free as per normal - however they managed to disconnect my RNS-E unit which has lost the code, it was changed under warranty in 2008 and i've not got the code - any ideas? can they be read and code extracted? I will ask them tomorrow if they can recode the unit just in case they have the ability.

Based in Fareham.

Advice welcomed as always....

Based in Fareham? Do you have an avant, I think I spotted your car before I purchased mine and thought about following you for a bit to get a closer look at the avant before I realised that that would be akin to stalking and that I also had a home visit I had to make. From memory, if you come off junction 11, coming from soton, you take a right at the roundabou, go over the flyover and at next roundabout do a left, carry straight on over the mini roundabouts in the town centre and do a left just after the petrol station instead of going up and over.. I could be completely wrong of course. As for DRC, do you have a warranty? Ask if they will contribute or have you gone down the slush fund route..

Luckily i have the extra care from warranty direct and a friendly garage that will hopefully help swing things, mine is a 2005 ebony black saloon with black optics pack and smoked chrome alloys. The irony was Audi in Newbury replaced shocks and accumilators in June 2010 just before my extended warranty ran out - less than 6000 miles and 18 months ago.
