When they changed the alternator, did they have the radio code? My thinking is that maybe they had to pull it out to get the serial number off it so they could get a code and unlock it when they connected the battery back up.

Or it could just be coincidence.

i`ve disconnected the sat nav twice in 4 years and both times the code wasn`t needed, i think its stored in the ecu and this knows if its the same system going back in. But i did as the garage last week if they knew anthing what was wrong and they did say they didn`t need to touch the sat nav/ radio
