I looked at getting the rns-e and digital tuner but couldn't be arsed. Got an aftermarket head unit, run my ipod through, has dvd, big screen and better sat nav than rns-e.
solar sunroof does help keep the car cooler but it's not fantastic.

So what aftermarket head unit did you get chunky79?
Re: 4TH RS, now in a 6 :)
Kenwood dnx7240bt. There is one for sale on audisrs at the moment and there was one on ebay just the other day for £500. Fantastic bit of kit for the money. Really didn't think i would be able to get on with a touch screen but it is really easy.

Re: 4TH RS, now in a 6 :)
I have the RNSE with [factory analogue] TV in the S4. After we all went digital - no signal. I thought there must be a way around this so I searched the net and found this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-VW-VOLKSWAGE ... 3a4e37cde7
To fit, remove all the rear trim, TV module and plug attached. There is a blank in the [blue] plug which slides off. Remove this and add the lead (above) Replace as necessary. This now gives you two sets of RGB cables.
I had a DVB-T unit in the back of a cupboard so fitted this (after running the 'magic eye controller' to the front. Unit is similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Freeview-TV-R ... 5199367349
(if the link disappears then search for blacksilvertech via ebay) You will need a 12v feed which you can pick up from the rear. I picked up a switched one (can't remember from which source)
Additionally I also acquired this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/96db-GAIN-CAR-DIG ... 4839363539
..which gives a much better reception.
The 2nd RGB cable I used for a slimline PS2 again acquired from ebay with a 12v adaptor which I hard wired. The PS2 is in the glovebox. I had to run a pair of RGB cables and also put some suppressor’s in-line to reduce any feedback:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
This could also be used for reversing camera if preferred.
The total cost was less than £100 and roughly a days work. I understand it's not 'needed' but for the price of everything and also having the opportunity to thoroughly clean the car with all the trim removed - why not. It's entertainment whilst the 'trouser wearer' is sitting in the Chinese takeaway awaiting supper to be prepared.
(I think I have some pics of installation with the module lead. PM if required.
Trust this helps,
Grahame
