Are you heading to the Knockhill track day on the 31st July?

Could be tempted, are you going? I saw there is a hot marques night in a couple of weeks. I used to track my 205 at Knockhill but not been for over 10 years. I gave up as it was getting taken over by muppets that either tried to run you off the track or got upset after getting a pasting by a 'lesser' powered car.

WOuld love to do a few laps to see how the car does but think its suited to more nimble cars than an rs6.

Yip I'm seriously considering it mate.

I used to go to Knockhill also in my younger days and was also put off by the neds in their Corsa's. Ah..those were the days....proper hot hatches. I miss my Mk2 Golf Gti 16v!! In those days 140bhp felt so fast!

I was at the very first hot hatch day in 1993 in my old renault 5 Gordini turbo. First time I had experienced brake fade!!

Got my 205 later that year and it ended up getting tweaked every year. Spent some collage loans getting the Mi16 engine for it and fitted it in my garage back in the days when hardly anyone had Mi'd a 205 so it was puzzling at first. Used to lap in 67 secs with crappy remould tyres LOL!!

Still got the 205 and hoping to rebuild it soon as I stripped it all out to restore it and its hopefully just needing put back together. Prob do a top end rebuild on the engine. Probably be as well putting a cage in it seeing as its stripped out.

Don't make them like they used to  What was wrong with lift off oversteer and no ABS or other driver aids LOL

those leons are fast, spend the same money "tunning" the RS6 then, it's a different story

Those were the days! I'm actually considering buying a Mk2 Golf for the track. I have a VR6 sitting in the drive way which would fit in nicely with a turbo conversion. Only £2,000 for the kit which in RS6 terms is chump change really. I really need to get my finger out and finish my Mk1 Cortina Cossie project however.....Jesus....maybe the wifes got a point.....perhaps I have too many cars on the go at once!

We're men - too many cars is barely enough.

Looking forward to a result on your Cortina/Cossie. That will be a great little sleeper hit, not many people expecting it to have AWD.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Got the intercooler back from the fabricators. The mounts needed a slight mod.

I thought I'd have it sorted by now but just don't have the time to work on it. I'm getting a few hours a week just now.

So....Knockhill on the 31st July....you up for it?
