There's an interesting thread started by MRC in the tuning section on 700+bhp S4's they're working on. If you want to drag, then that might be the way forward!

Just a note on that PH advert in the 1st post. There's no way its running 530bhp. Its on standard pipes and still on DRC. Why would anyone spend so much money on power and not address the basics? You'd need a miltek / MTM exhaust to get the power anyway.
Now Sold!

Doesnt have DRC or an auto box, so thats two less failures for a start ! ;)

And even if failures do occur as they would do on any car that is now 10+ years old, they are cheaper to address on the 4 than on the 6.
Wrong. The box is a failure point on the RS4, especially on the highly tuned ones.
Cams and followers- theres one that the 6 does not suffer from, so evens again.

I know a lot of people who would disagree about that......
Now if you are talking B5 S4- thats a different matter. cheaper all round but just as fast.
It's all Bollox.

Don't S4's suffer from turbo problems?

depends on what the last owner had it for. Might have just brought it to say he has had an RS6. People who dont know about the car or don't intend on keeping it that long will just want to make it faster.

All this 530 hp stuff is a bit misleading tbh....

there are not many 530hp RS6's out there. Its a VERY hard figure to achieve without changing turbos etc.

When doug first modded his RS6 he only just made that- and he is a tuner!

So as for doing it with out an exhaust or air filters nah..... not even with a cat back will you get that figure. need to be catless and more besides.

i would be VERY sceptical of any claims from ANYONE over 500hp without big mods. Mine makes 516 and i have done as much as i can without changing turbo's and mainfolds.....
Grizz and MRC have proven records of tuning these, and I am sure they will only gaurentee 500bhp from a remap and a cat back.......
