Mine definitely rolls backwards if the hill is steep enough.

Pretty sure the document is the US spec, not UK/Europe. Firstly the spelling is all US and two things quoted as standard which I think were only options, or not even available over here, viz:
- Electrically adjustable tilt and telescopic steering column with automatic tilt-away for ease of entry and exit
- HomeLink® 3 channel remote transmitter located in driver's sunvisor

So still not sure that "Hill detection" (whatever that is!) applies in UK.

It's a US document, but why would there not be the same gearbox map for over here? As for the above option - mine has that! The steering wheel moves out to greet me when I put they key in. :)

Edit: Sorry I have realised this thread has gone way off topic. :(

Mine doesn't - so I assume it was an option, not standard as the spec sheet says??

How odd. I thought that would be part of the memory seat kit that the yanks got in there. Mine's got electrical adjustable steering column, but it doesn't move unless I press the buttons.

I have one multi-directional button and one push switch. If it is pushed in, the wheel will move to the last position set when the key is inserted, and retract when the key is removed. A £345 option according to the price list.

Mine doesn't roll back and it cracks me up with I drive my wifes car with DSG as it does and takes a second to kick in when you take your foot off the brake.
