Make sure you check the Bp or barometric pressure, the lower that it is set to the more power it will show you as producing. 1000mb is a pretty average BMp for the UK. Turn off the AC. Do it in shoot out mode. gear 3 seems to be the standard settings on every one I have had done. Good luck- nothing liker thfeeling of getting more Geegees than you expected! :thumb:

The answer has been found ... the 500bhp conversion was done in June 2003.

In November 2005, the car had a new ECU fitted ...

They probably would do a deal, but it may be a blessing in disguise.

Grizz has worked wonders on the motor, and in fact, I am taking it to France to be re registered & insured in La Belle France. On that basis, I am safer with a standard car & not having to tell the french insurers its been modified.

Je suis tres content !

Hi Condor,
What was required to get the car back up to 450bhp? Just wondering what parts usually cause the loss of power people experiance. I am aware MAF and N75 valves can make a difference, but was wondering what you had done.
Cheers, Angus

producing its 500 bhp which is expected from its stage 1 MTM mod.

Detective work continues .. and for those of you that need any help, Grizz is your man !

Right, i had it roaded again at Triton at Bournemouth airport this morning after a slight map adjust by Kartechnic. I'll explain results after the pic.

Image

Bhp figures were down on this road because we couldn't do a full throttle run. It kicked down to 2nd everytime we floored it. We even tried starting from 50mph in 4th so that it kicked to 3rd, but the comp didnt ike starting from higher revs. Could be something to do with the new gearbox map. Torque was awesome though as we didnt need it past 3.5k revs. At 3/4 throttle we managed a 451bhp result so estimations were on around 500 - 510bhp with a 3rd gear start / finish.

So result was: 500 - 510Bhp est
535lb/ft Torque proven (slight map change by Kartechnic)

All results were at 1.06 bar boost.

As you can imagine, i was more than happy with that!!

Why didn't you do the run in manual mode and avoid the kick-down switch?

we tried mate. stuck it in manual, but when you push it past the clicky point on the peddle it drops a gear. must be some way of getting round it though.

Strange..... Generally, you can run upto 7k without kicking down, thats what Charlie did with mine, 3rd gear in flapster mode, feed the power in and all was fine! No kickdown- 510hp and 560ftlbs!
