Oil cooler lines - Aftermarket options?
Re: Oil cooler lines - Aftermarket options?
Here's hoping the threads are ok, I've seen the dremel method.
The leak was seen coming out of the join on the bottom pipe shown in my photo, so I'm pretty confident replacing that will resolve the issue!
RS Car Parts can make a return pipe too, if theres enough interest perhaps a group buy?

Bought this the other day purely because they are NLA.
And I May need it in the future.
But available for a forum member if in need.
Ps happy new year to all
Matt. Hope your ankle is on the mend. And you are doing good.

Seller was a absolute pleasure to deal with.
He is also selling his 2004 C5 RS6 with 70 K miles.
Re: Oil cooler lines - Aftermarket options?
I'd buy it if you'd let it go or could we use it as a template to get some aftermarket ones made up?

If you have just bought the other pipe and know of a company that can replicate them.
I don’t mind it being used as a template.
Perhaps we could get both pipes manufactured.
I would be interested in the other pipe to the one just purchased.
Bit of future proofing.

I’ve got a new oil cooler and all the gen pipes apart from 4b3317816c, but I’ve just purchased one from RS Carparts which seems pretty good so fingers crossed when I go to fit this lot it all goes to plan.
It’s a pain in the rear that Audi are discontinuing so many parts for these cars now especially detrimental parts like these.

Hi Riggs. Agree with you mate. It’s a pain trying to obtain parts that’s NLA.

For the offside one, I am of the view that the DIY option using teflon hoses is just as good as OEM - it both fits & functions well.
The nearside one - absolutely, I think it is worth getting a hardline made up to fit properly. A debate would be - direct fit onto the cooler, or adaptor fit as per the OS DIY to help salvage damaged threads?

It's getting there thanks. Still in an air boot, but can walk on it with the boot on. Have just started trying to put a bit of light load on without the boot too and seems to be OK so far.
Need to be careful not to overdo it though - I tend to be a bit "full bore" on stuff and don't want to overdo it and take a step backwards.
Reckon I'll be able to drive again in about week, although I sorned and put insurance on hold on most stuff so will have to sort that out.
(RS is still all taxed & insured though - it's the backup if the DD has a whoopsie)

After a slight delay with Parcelforce and customs, it's arrived.
