srichards. Yes it is led. The more I read up on the subject the more it seems to be a common fault.
Will be nice if I can get this sorted.

Found this for spare bits. Seems to be fairly comprehensive.

Thank you srichards. Confirms that it is a common problem.
Interestingly they also sell the chrome facelift rings which I have already ordered from another site.
If I was a bit braver I could possibly install a new screen myself after watching a video on how to do it.
However think I will leave it to the experts.
Need to use the car daily. So unless the replacement cluster can be installed I will have to live with the problem.
As usual lots of friendly advice on the forum.

Ps very rarely do I live with a problem where the RS6 is concerned.
OCD WILL KICK IN
So it will get sorted one way or another.

I was the one who wrote that I had a DIS pixel problem.

I've bought all the bits, but haven't got round to changing it yet due to 2 things - I let me VCDS to a mate (30 miles away) and since COVID-19 messed everything up, so I've barely left my town since, and B: The pixels are almost fixing themselves  Previously they were permanently like a tiny worm had made its way across the screen, but since they some of the lines have dissappeared (possibly moisture evaporating?). Either way I'm in no rush.

One from ebay France. Don't know if its the correct one to be honest but I'll check it when I take the old one out.

Does anyone know/used a company for doing what is needed so that I can take one out and plug in the replacement.
Immobilizer pin
Mileage correction (have been informed that this is possible)
Came across cartronix. Don’t know if they can do it as I haven’t spoken to them yet.

Thanks Shop.
In St Albans.
Waiting for the chrome dial surrounds to arrive. Just to give the cluster a lift.
Will then get in touch with them.

Replacement cluster arrived today as did the chrome dial surrounds.
So need to retrieve the pin from the original cluster.
Can this be done via VCDS ?
Then write this code to the replacement VCDS?
Then ok to swop them over ?
Any info would be much appreciated
Or send the replacement away for them to do the coding and fit the chrome dial surrounds and check the cluster is fully functioning
Again any advice fully appreciated.
Ps been in touch with Hazzydayz and waiting for reply.

Hazzy dayz will sort you out. He'll be able to read the immobiliser codes. You can't do it with VCDS.

Thank you Shop. Won’t be visiting them St Albans too far away. Will be by post.
So I still need to retrieve the original cluster Immobilizer PIN number and provide to hazzydayz.
Regards Steve.

In that case you are going to need some special equipment. Have a look at the key coding thread in the FAQ. I am against posting information that helps inform people on how to steal our cars, but I guess that cat is out of the bag.

Don’t worry Shop. I don’t intend stealing my car as I already own it ????????
Ps if your ever near the east coast do you fancy giving me some VCDS training.
