Later ones are £570 tax per year so that's another reason to keep an older one!

Hate to say this. Pulled out of the drive today and no “wet” patches at all.
Checked the coolant level, still at max level after a week of driving.
Should be grateful but hate leaks that fix themselves !
Will still go to unit 20 and get the rad / cooler and hoses replaced. Peace of mind.

Doing my head in. 5 weeks gone by and not had to top it up once. No drips on the cardboard placed under the car each evening.
Should be pleased but hate problems rectifying themselves without any intervention.

You sure it wasn't condensate from the AC? It can drip a LOT.

Hi Shop. No not the a/c unit. Familiar with that one. Bottom of rad and back of engine covered in green coolant. And was having to top up expansion tank weekly.
Will be going to see grizz for a service soon (I hope ) spoke with him a while back about it.
But it’s ok at the moment.

Perhaps it was a sticky thermostat that caused some local boiling and an overflow. Don't think the RS6 has pressure release on the rad, but I can't remember.

Also, the coolant shouldn't be green in an RS6.

Got me thinking now. Sorry red coolant. Nearly 5 weeks since I have been under her.
Senior moment springs to mind.
By the way what day is it, what year is it and where do I live.

Checked expansion tank today. Still at max level and again no drip marks.
Coolant temp gauge maintains 90 degrees
Hope it was something sticking.
But usually I am not that lucky.
Keep on monitoring until u20 reopens.

At unit 20 today for full service.
Coolant level still ok but.
Rad bottom slightly leaking. Hose to cooler fitting corroded (metal to ally union).
Looks like new rad, cooler and hoses at the next visit.

New rad, ouch. Saying that, think there are 2 different numbers/parts , one cheapish, the other not.

Porsche Macan Turbo.

Hi chunky79. Yes 1 rad is £550 ish if it is still available. The 2nd one that is available is £1000 ish.
Then oil cooler and auxiliary water pump and all associated hoses.
Flexible Brake hoses need doing.
Whilst we’re at it will get the gearbox serviced.
That will be it for this year ( I hope )
Now waiting for price.

Ps you were right grizz is getting the smaller jobs done first.
So you should be getting a call v soon.
Lovely drive there and back 2.5 hours each way and I wasn’t taking it slow.
Best regards and stay safe.

Glad they're still open. My nearest specialist is shut so Unit 20 is my back up plan if it needs urgent work.
