They look great, I'm definitely going the Airtec route rather than Wagners, makes more sense on a standard car. Do any of you Wagner guys fancy selling me your old standard intercoolers at a reasonable price so I can get them recored and then fit in a couple of hours. This would save me having the car in bits for two weeks.
Let me know if anyone's interested.
Thanks, Richard.

Thanks for all the replies to this as well, it's been very helpful and saved me wasting money on the KWE intercoolers.
Try contacting either MRC and Unit20, they sometimes have some old intercoolers knocking around. I got some off Unit20 years ago.

Bit off topic;

Although I am very to Audi ownership, I spent some 4 years playing with forced induction 4stroke engines for JetSkis and we found a company in the USA called Bell Intercoolers

https://bellintercoolers.com/

In our testing and practical applications we found the Bell IC's consistently delivered much lower temps to our super charged engines (stage 3 1500cc rotax setups), by a large margin! We were running our engines 8500-9200 RPM @ 15-18LB boost for extended periods when out on the water. Anyone who knows the abuse these ski engines are subjected to will understand how hard it is to run them this hard, let alone well cooled for any extended period. I have noted and logs somewhere on the temps we recorded vs other brands, if someone is interested in the variations let me know and I will try and dig them up.

Short of the long , the Bell IC's out performed everything else we could get our hands on, perhaps they might be a good fit for running on the rs4's and rs6's?

They make to order as well and are very easy to work with remotely and priced reasonable fairly.

anyways just sharing in case it helps and give you guys a better, more cost effective option for managing heat issues :)

Regards

Steve

The Wagner’s are obviously a proven bit of “reliable” kit however for the cost of the re core service and Airtec’s strong reputation,I’ve saved £’s not buying the Wagners so I can treat myself to a full non resonated cat back Milltek system and have the Airtec coolers for virtually the same price as the Wagner’s alone :biggrin3:
