Hi all! Made an account to get some more info on this matter, since I also stumbled upon this dodgy Japanese "16/20' RS6+.

Image
link
It has the plaque at the shifter with "16/20" engraved.

I could not find more on the production number for Japan. But why would anyone fake that? I mean, we can agree it is at least a real RS6 right? Even has the solar sunroof. So why make it appear even more exclusive than a 'normal' RS6+, but not ask the according price?

(Also, here and there I heard/read only 561 of the planned 999 were made, where can I find this from a trustworthy source?)
"Der RS6 plus war nur als Kombi erhältlich und ursprünglich auf 999 Exemplare limitiert. Gebaut wurden jedoch nur 564, 001-561 sowie 997,998 und 999." -Wikipedia, but no citation
Thanks!

And they're 480PS not 450, but hey, when you're making up cars, why the hell not.

VIN will tell the story. If you're interested, ask for it. No reason not to give it.

Yup, they didn't sell all 999. Stopped around 560 or 580. Can't remember exactly.

Here is the model 16/20 Japanese one again, for sale in Germany (but still with UK plates?) -oil service Stickers show indeed Japanese origin.

VIN number is there as well: WUAZZZ 4B75 N900016, so definitely not an official Plus (<-> N99) ?
Somehow it has me gotten me intrigued as I don't understand why anybody would put that much effort in making it look like a plus, without even noting it should have 480PS instead of 450 as advertised. Could it be with Japanese regulation?

100% fake or who's got more info? :notworthy:

Nothing about this car makes any sense. Why is it LHD if it comes from Japan? Why only a couple months after being advertised in the UK is it being sold by a gardener in Germany? Why is it a 4B7 VIN?

According to this VIN decoder it's not a Plus and doesn't have a plus engine (BRV).

Maybe Audi called them a Plus in Japan just for marketing. Or maybe the Japanese owner had a badge made up. Without some kind of documentation from Audi stating that it's a limited edition then it has no value over a standard RS6.

Yes nothing seems to make sense, strange. Guess the topic title's still very accurate haha

It's got barge pole marks all over it.
