Chances are you will need the steering wheel control module changing as well.

On a non-MSWF A6 you'll need the Multifunction relay, base for the relay, cables to be cut'n'hacked alongside the OEM wiring and a new stalk.

Nobody in their right mind would go through all that hassle for a fugly steering wheel..would they?

That's what I thought, but it turns out some people actually like the poverty spec 3-spoke wheel.

Anyway, IIRC the RS6 has the steering ring that will accept either. Need to confirm that.

Pretty sure Amar had to change his slip ring.

I'd consider it if it were a simple change as the three spoke ain't exactly a looker. Form over function and all that. Would be nice to have controls on the wheel for the audio and keep the car relatively standard without the expense of the FBSW route.
