Look at the B5, it is much rarer, 400 UK units vs about 3000 C5, it has a much bigger following IMO and in terms of production ending, is four years maturer than the C5.

Going by that model, no, I don't believe the values of C5 models will rise anytime soon. The B5's aren't commanding mad money. I reckon the C5 will hit a price point and stay there, with the odd low mileage unmodified one commanding a little extra.

The C5 also has a reputation for being notoriously unreliable, and not only on Audi forums, look at Pistonheads.

It strikes me that most owners of any good C5 will be on here or another forum.

If we all stuck together, and if we really want to sell our cars, ensured we advertise them for an increasing sum each month / year, then the prices of our car would appreciate. We would manipulate the market.

It's better for us if some cars do get dismantled, to make the good ones rarer.

I say we ensure that if a 100k miler which is in proper shape is worth £14000 this year, £15000 next year, and so on ad-infinitum, we will end up with stable prices permanently etc.

Careful you are going to get yorkrs6 justifying his £25000 price tag for his standard car, when we all know modified ones are far superior :)

Is it my poor eyes or does that car have cream leather because the description says full black leather.
Also pic 11 shows 8 owners and the description says 7.

So there selling one of the best cars on the road and they can't even be bothered to write a proper description.
Edit also comes with surround sound system.......which has been nicked, haha got to love some peoples ways of advertising

As most of you said on here when I sold mine, I'm really regretting it.

Mine had just had all that money spent at grizzs and sold it 2 weeks later. Biggest mistake I made, and I've been looking for a replacement plus for a while. For me it's c5 rather than c6, but I could be tempted by an rs5 if my bloody numbers come up!

Too many people buy these cars and are surprised and unable to keep up with t's running costs.

Anyway, time for desert..chocolate fudge cake!!
Well Leeroy, I met you on the way back from when you picked your car up from Grizz and I said you were mad for selling it!
How are things anyway? House almost done? Ready to come back to C5 ownership anytime soon?

That's the killer right there, these beasts can be massive money pits; even if the usual problems have been sorted on a potential purchase that's no guarantee of immunity from crippling bills; we all know about the chocolate 'box & balsa wood DRC, most sane collectors won't go near......BUT....if in 30 years time you've got a minter in your air conditioned & temperature controlled man cave then you might just make a couple of shekels if an RS nutter fancies a punt

What is the parts support like from Audi? Our cars are getting to 10+ years old now and they won't supply parts for ever.

Obviously there might be parts which are common across the ranges but it might be worth hording a few sought after parts if they are no longer available.

How are we chunkster?!

I remember it well, I seem to remember totally pigging out in McDonald's after you'd gone!

House is breaking me, still not finished, tons of stuff has come up which I didn't expect, but it's getting there.

I'm ready for round 2 on the c5 front, but it has to be a plus, or a bloody good c5 with mods done. I may even be tempted to get a red one, just to make your teeth grind!

So what have I missed? What's been happening??

That's another thing, BMW and Mercedes support their old models. BMW promise, that should you require a part, no matter how old the model is they have all the blueprints at their Munich HQ for every car ever produced, and if the parts supplier no longer exists, they have a team that will go out and find a new supplier and make a new batch of the components you require. Audi/VAG have no such service.

Didn't know that. Good on them.

Still, it's easier with Mercedes since so many of their parts are interchangeable with Massey Fergusons.

All good handsome. Shame you couldn't make it to ADI!
You'll have to keep your eyes on the classifieds here for your next car then.
