I went to see Howell about some arch rolling. He wanted to modify my bump-stops and respray the front-end, wasn't on the same wavelength so I left. This was halfway through Doug's B5 WB.
I only use FirmFX for paint, always been good for me and everyone I've recommended to them. Footers, Phirm are in Farnham so it would be easy for you ask/price.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Already spoke to Chris, didn't realise that you used my guys as well? Got a price of £3.5-4 ballpark and that was without spraying deep in to the engine bay. They did the rear bumper respray on mine, same and some repair work on my mum's avant and also finished up the fibreglass bootlid and sprayed on the Scoob.

professional full respray. ballpark price for a good job?

Post by S4Player » Mon Jan 13, 2014 1:13 pm

Daz I know who your talking about it's the lad who owns his own Shop? Tricks? Every painter has an off day I've had two full shell engine out jobs from Greg and they are both spotless and of the highest standard. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who's after some top quality work. He's not one the highest regarded in the uk for no reason. I'll point him to this thread see if he feels like commenting. I would say for a top respray on the c5 (engine in) I'm assuming? Would be about 4/4.5k

Just to add, Greg doesn't paint out of a shed lol have you been to his place? He has a massive spray booth on site and has done since I met him 3 years ago.

Maybe your lucky. 7(minimum) off days/jobs? Treatment after the fact bordering on outright gypsy? Point him in the direction by all means. I'm sure I'll end up with a visit from the police like doug got...

I know the story well I'm friends with a friend of the guy at tricks (chris, mk5 red r32 gold wheels) he's seen my rs4 respray in the flesh. Commented how good it was asked who done it etc it then led on to the story your on about. My b5 wb conversion is also absolutely superb I can't fault it, Greg is costly though

Shame to hear about Gregs's current repuation. He painted my golf including the engine bay, and his work was top qaulity. This was some years ago however. I am very glad I read this post as I was considering returning to him for the painting on my loon. Shame because he is very local and had a great rep in the local vw community.
