Now that was purely gratuitous invocation of the golfather.

Have you made any progress with this?

I've also got H&R's and Im fed up of looking at the sky as soon as a suitcase is put in the back and they really are crashy hard riding things. I'm not too keen to go coilovers again and the KONI's generally get great write ups from other marques.
If I have no luck getting standard DRC springs, I was looking at Eibach pro springs for the S6 combined with hotchkis ARB. Hope to gain a decent ride without sacrificing too much ability in the corners.

I think this is a fantastic idea, at least we know the DRC springs are made especially for the car. I think the PSS9/10s must be missing something if the same kit is for Audi A6/S6/RS6 4B 4WD VW Passat 3B2 3B5 3B3 3B6.
No matter where you go, there you are.

This is an interesting idea, can someone tell me exactly what Koni's you'd use for this? And also where to get a cheap spring compressor? My car is bouncing around a bit on the front left and rear right!

I believe the RS6+ stock springs give you a 10mm lower ride height. May not seem like much but should still give you a nice stance.

Hmm I've been thinking more about this, and am leaning towards just going for the Bilstein B16's

I'm looking for something not crashy as well. The roads around me are a disgrace. So much so I'm considering an old V8 Range Rover sport with air suspension as I'm fed up of having a kidney knocked out.

Whatever the solution it needs to be supple but not wallowy. Controlled and not vague. It definitely needs up and down squish without allowing too much weight transfer in corners.

I'm considering whether to put on 18" wheels as I've currently got 19" with the elastic band 35 profile tyres on. Does this make a lot of difference?

I currently have the ride height only adjustable Bilsteins. I think they're probably a bit shot as well so it's definitely the time to do something.

So original Audi DRC RS6 springs and Bilstein shocks that have adjustable damping maybe? Is there an after market Bilstein active air suspension solution that would talk to the DRC unit?

The ride quality really ruins the car. It's crap. It's constant bang, bang, bang, crash, bang, thud everywhere. It's just tiresome.

Good thinking. That way once you've sold the kidney to fix the Rangey, problem solved.

DRC is totally passive. No electronics whatsoever.

Sounds like there might be something wrong with yours.

Maybe you should get some stock springs and some Koni shocks.

Although I seem to remember the first reviews of the RS6 when it first came out criticised the harsh suspension.

It seems to be an Audi thing to have harsh suspension.

There isn't a single piece of tarmac for miles that is flat and level. It's all bumpy and potholed or sinking.

Maybe. Certainly my M3 is very compliant compared to the Audi.

Been out in mine today for over 4 hours, forgot how hard the ride is with pss9 and 30 profile tyres (haven't driven it properly for months). Handles like a fecking dream though :redrs4:

If it's too firm with the PSS9s as well then that's just saved me £2k!

I'm considering going the full old codger and fitting quilted seat covers ;)

Don't forget I'm running 30 profile tyres. The ride was a bit smoother with oem tyres. Can't comment what it was like with drc as it was knackered when I purchased the car. I've got hotchkiss anti roll bars which tightens it up a touch more too.

Just been for a blast down some very uneven single track lanes. I have to say that it felt awesome. The PSS9 handles the uneven surfaces very well and the car felt planted and comfortable.
