And you're right, the quotes are done by the contact centre at most dealerships.

Cov Audi changed the box oil on my A8 years ago, that's also 'sealed for life'. Who's your contact there? Could prove useful for me. Could you PM me?
I wouldn't use Stafford again, EVER. MRC is what, 20 mins from you?

Lets put it this way, took them a week, that's right, a week to do a cambelt change. Then I had to repair the car myself after I got it back! The courtesy car was bloody filthy inside too.

They had everything thing needed, apart from brains. The fact they tried to cover something up and it backfired on them made it even worse. The best part was when they asked me into the workshop to have a look at the car so they could explain things to me. The service manager turned and asked if I understood, when I told him I was a mechanic and what they'd done was shocking, his face was a picture. Please guy's, don't try and save £50, just use MRC that are close to you.

Not really much point putting up what they did and didn't do Chris, I just like to warn people when I've had any bad experiences. Had issues with 2 other local dealers too, was hoping after a few years away from them that I would be little luckier. Can't say the specialists have been perfect but that's me being picky :D

It's not picky. I would much rather do the work myself as I know it's been done correctly but other commitments and a lack of ramp access and specialist tools force me into having to trust someone else. When I weigh the cost of my time plus the cost of ramp hire for the hours I have spare plus the expense of buying specialist tools for particular jobs I end up getting the work done at a garage.
