I don't doubt for a second that the RS6 would be a very capable towing car. Definitely not homologated for it though. I'm sure it's a non-issue, though. Just wondered what the law / insurance situation is.

Are we talking about the same insurance companies that last year wanted to charge people more for fitting winter tyres because you had 'modified your vehicle away from standard specification!' ?

I hear what you're saying about the legal bit.

A grey area.

Running update.

I managed to get the car into work and get the air-con re-gassed properly so it's lovely and cold :)

I've just carried out the 140k service. New plugs, oil and filters (all from TPS.. the proper stuff too). The K&N filters have had a clean and are good to go for the next 10K.

I've reset the service interval to fixed 10K intervals rather than long-life so that it gets looked after.

The car is going very well.

The last tank full was 20.9mpg and I'm averaging around 22mpg (dash reading 24.5mpg) on this tankful.

The suspension hasn't been an issue and I think that I was being a bit OTT about it being too low.

A big bit of news... I may end up having to sell it :(

Things may be changing shortly in my personal life and this will mean that an RS6 will not be sensible to keep!

We'll have to see what happens.

Thanks for all the reports, really interesting. Hope you can continue posting.
I've got a removable Towbar ( fitted by unit 20), for occasional light use.
Increases the usefulness of car and works well.
Insurance co happy, in fact they were more interested in the winter wheel / tyres ( which are oem option !)

Lol,

Thanks that's very kind.

We'll see what happens. It's a very quick car and I love driving it.

Getting ready for Winter, I've put the other set of 19s on with Pirelli Sotozero Winter tyres.

I quite like the look... I've not seen an RS6 with these wheels on before.

I've been made redundant and... the original reason for it being up for sale is that my Wife is pregnant!! so the RS6 is pretty much sitting around most of the time with a battery conditioner plugged into it.

I take it out now and again and I'll probably use it more over the winter once the snow arrives but long term, it's still gotta go. Shame really.

Those wheels and debadge = very stealth.

Bit *too* stealth with those wheels. Don't like them. Maybe would look better with spacers?

The wheels have spacers already. I don't think I could move them out much more.

The wheels won't go with the car but this gives me a chance to have the RS6 wheels repainted so that they're mint :)

Nope,

To tell you the truth, I've not tried very hard to sell it.

All I've done is put it on a few forums.

Come March, I'll probably really start trying to sell it.
